As the first hints of spring breathe life back into London, there’s no better place to soak up the sunshine and indulge in seasonal bites than The Broadcaster.
It’s a modern British pub nestled in the heart of White City but this isn’t your average lunch spot or watering hole. With a vibrant rooftop terrace and spring vibes, it’s a little slice of heaven above the busy streets of West London. Open all year long and with regular events, The Broadcaster has something for everyone.
Spread over multiple floors and with views of the iconic Television Centre, I headed straight to the top floor for some al fresco dining on the venues rooftop, to soak up the impending summer vibes. Layers of clothing came off (I kept this PG of course, I’m talking about my woolly cardigan and scarf!), and sunglasses stayed firmly on for the duration of my visit.

The other two floors of the building are home to the actual pub and dining room with a selection of cosy tables, warm tones and textures plus floor to ceiling windows. Lots of greenery around too which is always a nice contrast when surrounded by lots of buildings, cars and main roads in London Town.

With a seasonal menu blending gastropub comfort with chef finesse, the classics are elevated here. This is where modern British dining gets a fresh, seasonal twist. An extensive drinks menu is also on offer with beers, cocktails and a good wine selection. Now I do love a cocktail in the sun but on this occasion, it was the start of a long bank holiday, so it was only right we popped a bottle of bubbles!

Lunch was buzzing throughout the whole service and after carefully eyeing all the dishes on everyone else’s tables from my cushion adorned pew, I knew what to order…
For the first round of dishes, we shared the most delicious Monkfish Scampi with curry tartar plus the Salt Baked Celeriac with goats cheese, roasted beets and hazelnuts. Chosen main courses were the Grilled Yellowfin Tuna with Kohlrabi, orange and fennel, and lemon butter. A superbly zingy, fresh concoction which washed down ever so nicely with my Billecart-Salmon Champagne and my plus one had the Beefy Yorkshire Wagyu Burger with Red Leicester served with skin on fries. The menu caters easily for all your spring cravings.

Enjoying the long lunch energy (maybe a bit too much!), we decided to forego dessert, bask in the sun’s rays a little more and order another bottle of bubbles. Those who know me, know I can drink anybody under the table when it comes to good champagne!

On Sundays at The Broadcaster, you can get your roast fix no matter what season it is. For large groups of friends wanting a special space for their celebrations and /or catchups, there is a private dining space and group menu options. For those adults who have mini me’s, there is a kids menu available too making it a great place to visit with the family without having to worry about what the kids will eat.
With the backdrop of Television Centre and a view that stretches over Westfield, it’s a picture-perfect blend of urban cool without the hefty price tag like, some of the other popular rooftops in London!
