INUIKII is an independently owned luxury footwear brand with sustainability at its heart, inspired by fearless designs and innovative comfort. The bedrock of the brand is all about embracing differences and designing pieces of statements to disrupt expectations. INUIKII is focused on developing striking and adaptable footwear to appeal the modern woman and man. Designed in Switzerland, each pair of shoes are handmade in Europe using European materials, meaning each pair is unique and finished to the highest standards. INUIKII’s wide range of styles offer a choice from sophisticated classic to fashion-led designs.

The design team at INUIKII are continually looking for new materials that are sustainable and eco-friendly, from using shearling to line the inside of all of their boots, to developing their patented natural-rubber soles, now used across all of their production. INUIKII is proud to be one of the first footwear brands to use BANANATEX, which is the world’s first durable, waterproof fabric made purely from banana plants. Cultivated in the Philippines with a natural ecosystem of sustainable forestry, the plant requires no chemical treatments and is fully biodegradable.

INUIKII was founded by Cinzia Maag and her sons Danilo and Alessio in 2013, initially designed specifically for the colder months when both style and function is key. Cinzia Maag was born in Perugia, central Italy, and came to Switzerland as a young girl in the early sixties.

Cinzia chose to brave the unknown and does what she always has – gives it all she has got. She started marketing shoes at an agency, which was quickly followed by imports as a wholesaler, creating successes for well-known premium brands across Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. However, she saw a gap in the market to create something really stylish, durable, and sustainable. So she set out to develop a footwear brand that could combine all three elements – and INUIKII was born.

Cinzia’s sons, Alessio and Danilo, have been a pivotal part of the development and growth of the brand and business. Danilo now acts as Chief Marketing Officer, steering the brand’s direction and marketing. Alessio is Chief Creative Officer, channeling his passion for creativity from a young age into innovative designs, and working alongside Cinzia across the footwear design, development and production.

After an incredibly successful start, INUIKII set their sights on global distribution, which is when the perfect partnership was born; Cinzia Maag met Swedish fashion entrepreneur duo, Nicole Nordin and Peter Forsberg*. The Swedish husband and wife team have extensive experience within consumer products and distribution, having successfully launched several well-known brands throughout the Scandinavian market and beyond.
