You will know by now that we have been working with award-winning Dr Raj Thethi MBChB BSc(Hons) MRCSEd and his team at The Yorkshire Skin Centre for over a year. I myself have tried many of the non-invasive procedures (anti-aging of course!), and we always get excited when Dr Raj introduces something new to the Yorkshire Skin Centre because we know that he thoroughly investigates anything new to the aesthetics world before adding to the menu of treatments available.
Having undergone a course of Morpheus8 and Hydra Tight, NeoGen Plasma Skin Regeneration was a natural progression for me, it does include a short period of downtime, but the results are definitely worth it!
The NeoGen Plasma is very different to anything I have had before, it is a safe and FDA approved skin resurfacing procedure for the face, neck, decolletage and hands which encourages new collagen and elastin growth.
What does it do?
It resurfaces the full surface of the skin treating common concerns such as:
- Uneven pigmentation and age spots
- Fine lines
- Deep wrinkles
- Acne scars
- Laxity
- Loose eyelid skin (upper and lower)
Just one NeoGen Plasma treatment will significantly improve skin quality. It is unique in its ability to safely treat eyelids, unlike laser procedures which require corneal shields, the plasma energy delivered to the eyelid tissue does not penetrate through to the cornea, making it incredibly safe. The results are dramatic, leaving you with a much-refreshed appearance.
How does it work?
Plasma energy is derived from nitrogen gas. During the NeoGen treatment, the surface of the skin is heated up with a device that delivers energy pulses which appear to singe the skins surface and there is a slight smell of burning during the treatment.
Immediately after the treatment your skin appears red – mine was very red! This is where the down time starts as over the next few days the red changes to brown, feels tight and eventually a thin layer of skin will peel off.
NeoGen Plasma preserves the skins outer layer which acts as a natural protective dressing until your new healthy skin forms over a 7-to-10-day period, depending on the strength of the treatment. There are different levels of depth depending on the results required.
Surface improvements will appear quickly and deep dermal remodelling continues for months to years. The treatment takes only an hour, but the results are natural and continue to improve over time.
Is this treatment right for me?
People with light-medium skin tones, with acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, or hyperpigmentation are great candidates for the treatment.
What results will I see?
The results are significant! You can see immediate tightening and through several weeks and months, new baby skin begins to surface. Improvements in collagen regeneration continue for up to a year after treatment. Results are firmer, more youthful looking skin and significant improvement in fine lines, wrinkles and dark circles.
I have had one NeoGen Plasma treatment on a low setting and my down time was 5 days. My skin was extremely red at first, this turned slightly brown and became very tight just before shedding started. Until this point you can not wear makeup so bare this in mind.
I noticed immediate tightening, especially my jawline and my skin looks much fresher and younger than before. I am now booked in for a second treatment on a deeper level and I know I will need up to 10 days down time so have planned this into my schedule.
