This is the year of the staycation and they don’t come any better than the luxury holiday homes by Maison Parfaite.
We absolutely love this family business, they have got it just right, with stunning holiday properties across Yorkshire in the Yorkshire Dales, Nidderdale, Harrogate, York, Leeds City Centre and Robin Hoods Bay.
At Maison Parfaite many of their properties are perfectly sized for large families, or groups of friends – why have a pokey hotel room when you can lounge, laugh, dance and play in a fabulously opulent social space?
Others are more intimate, suiting couples, small families, or corporate guests, but still providing the full-on glamour of Maison Parfaite as well as the convenience of a home from home with cooking facilities and living space.
We recently visited the latest addition to their holiday home portfolio, Nydsley Hall, an impressively grand residence in the picturesque village of Pateley Bridge. We stayed for two nights and we could easily have stayed for a week – it was idyllic.
A stunning period building, Nydseley Hall boasts five beautiful apartments, each with original features and glorious views over Pately Bridge and the surrounding countryside. Three have a private garden or terrace with a hot tub and the first-floor apartment has a large roof terrace with panoramic views.
We were booked into the Grande Suite, an extra-large ground floor open plan apartment with two fantastic double bedrooms, two balconies, a large private garden and a hot tub! How lucky were we?
After taking in the splendour of the apartment, the house and its location, we settled in for a chilled first evening of cheese and meats, a few drinks and a dip in that hot tub. Bliss. It was so quiet and this, was just what we needed.
Now let’s talk about those beds! We need one of those beds! It has been years since we had such a good night’s sleep, I don’t actually think we moved – at all – all night! We are getting one of those beds!
The following morning, we were up bright and early to explore the area. It was a beautiful day, perfect for a good long walk. After a large, cooked breakfast, we set off along the Nidderdale Way, a 54 mile circular footpath. We managed to cover a good 11 miles of it in search of the famous Brimham Rocks.
‘The Wonder of Nidderdale’ – Brimham Rocks, is an amazing collection of weird and wonderful rock formations, sculpted over centuries by ice, wind and rain. It makes a great day out for families, climbers, walkers and those wanting to enjoy the simple pleasures of fresh air and magnificent views. The strangely shaped rock formations tower over heather moorland, offering panoramic views across Nidderdale and to the Vale of York. A truly stunning place to visit.
However, we must have taken a wrong turn as we couldn’t find them! Needless to say, we were not leaving the area without seeing them, so we drove to them the following day and it’s a good job we did. The site is huge and it took us another three hours to walk around! We were pleased we hadn’t found them the day before or it would have been dark when we got back to the apartment!
Thank good ness for that hot tub and those super comfy beds! We were shattered, but the hot tub (and a few wines), eased our weary legs and the beds (and a few wines), made sure we again slept like babies.
It is difficult to put into words how much we enjoyed our stay with Maison Parfaite at Nydsley Hall. It was one of the best short breaks we have had and we can’t wait to visit their other locations.
Keep this to yourself but I have some inside information that by the end of June, there will be another fantastic holiday home and location added to the list. Watch this space and check them out, you will be so pleased you did.
Tell them we sent you.
