Hotel du Vin Exeter Reveals Vibrant New Coast and Countryside Look Bistro

Hotel du Vin Exeter reveals a brand new look to its Bistro that celebrates the vibrant meeting of coast and countryside. Nestled within the historic confines of the Grand Old Hospital building, Hotel du Vin Exeter has just unveiled its statement new-look Bistro in tandem with being awarded AA Rosette.

Integrating modern design statements that take inspiration from Exeter’s lush Verdant Estuary paired with rustic additions to the décor that provide a subtle nod to the not-too-distant coast, the new interiors of the Bistro at Hotel du Vin Exeter seamlessly combine the essence of coast and countryside through bold textures and contemporary styling.

The Bistro is now an inviting bolthole where designers have curated a palette of deep, luxurious colours that embody Hotel du Vin’s statement heritage flair.

Taking centre stage is a new light installation which includes over 50 bespoke hanging lamps suspended in a colourful macramé of fishing nets.

Palettes include sophisticated dark steel hues which gracefully recede like the ocean to meet a natural oasis that unfolds in the shape of wall coverings adorned with lush greenery and trailing plants which extend along the window elevations with picturesque views of the terrace and lawns beyond.

With its copper table lamps casting a soft glow, terrazzo style stone tables, bold French couture fabrics and terracotta tones of fresh leather seating, the space pulls on the diner’s nostalgia for the natural world while immersing them in a feeling of being at one with nature while dining.

Serving hearty seasonal menus, the Bistro specialises in French-inspired fare with a modern British twist – and has an enviable wine list too. Vegan options are also available.

Guests who stay for breakfast can also admire the new marble breakfast buffet, itself a bold statement, set against a dark green tiled wall.

Stays at Hotel du Vin Exeter are priced from £129 BB Jan-Mar 2024 based on two sharing when booked direct.
