Nestled amidst the scenic beauty of Gatwick, Stanhill Court Hotel offers an idyllic retreat surrounded by breathtaking views and nature at its finest.
From the moment I arrived, the long, winding road leading up to Stanhill Court Hotel built anticipation for the architectural marvel that awaited me. As I approached, the building’s grandeur became evident—a historic gem blending charm with modern elegance.
Stepping through the grand, historic doors, I was greeted by the tranquil yet contemporary hotel lobby. Check-in was swift and welcoming, and I was soon shown to my room. From wall to wall and floor to ceiling, the space was nothing short of stunning. My room featured a four-poster bed, a seating area with views of the valley, a water station, a Tassimo coffee machine with Twinings tea, and a spacious bathroom complete with all necessary toiletries. The room was bright, spacious, and exuded a sense of relaxation and luxury.
After settling in, I explored the hotel’s exquisite architecture and design. The spiral staircase, adorned with a magnificent chandelier and framed by stained-glass windows, is a true highlight of Stanhill Court. As I descended, I stumbled upon the bar—a cosy, wood-panelled space with a slate bar, evoking the warmth of a hunting lodge.
Wandering through the hotel’s grounds, I discovered an outdoor amphitheatre, perfect for hosting a wedding ceremony in an enchanted, natural setting. Continuing my walk, I reached the patio at the back of the hotel, offering panoramic valley views that seemed to stretch on forever, especially with the sun shining brightly.
While I only had breakfast at Stanhill Court Hotel, the food and service were exceptional. The breakfast spread included pastries, cereals, yogurts, and a hot buffet, as well as made-to-order options such as Eggs Royale and Eggs Benedict. The dining area was a delightful blend of classic architecture and modern furnishings, creating a light and airy ambiance.
In summary, Stanhill Court Hotel is a stunning venue, ideal for weddings or a peaceful getaway. Conveniently located near to Gatwick Airport, the hotel also offers airport parking, yet its secluded location ensures peace and quiet, away from any flight paths.
