Philippe Starck Lamps
You can rightfully call it a true design icon: Philippe Starck! Starck, born in 1949, grew up as the son of an aircraft engineer. Designing, with an eye for detail, function and design, has therefore been taught to him from an early age.
Philippe doesn’t exactly like sitting still and has many masterpieces to his name. He has decorated several hotels and restaurants, designed engines and boats, including the yacht of Steve Jobs and his many works are permanently included in museums such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York. For the interior industry, Starck designed some iconic design furniture and design lighting for Kartell, Magis and Flos, among others. Known for, among other things, the Masters Chair and the Louis Ghost Chairhe has already produced many beautiful products.
However, he works regularly with other manufacturers and, for example, in conjunction with Vitra, he develops his wonderfully free-flowing Baobab desk; The inspiration for the supposedly is the shape of the seeds of the baobab or upside-done tree. With unique product designs and highly regarded interior designs, he succeeded in becoming a star designer in the 1980s. Individual design by Philippe Starck has since become a globally recognized trademark.
