I always think a Spa Day is the perfect opportunity to disconnect from the world and either indulge in that all-important ‘me time’, or spend some quality time with a loved one, minus all the outside noise.
My brother and I used to fight like cat and dog but as the years have passed we love hanging out and Donnington Valley Hotel and Spa looked like the perfect fit for us.
Facilities

The 4-star, 113-room hotel just outside of Newbury Berkshire, is also home to an exclusive membership club where members have access to the large fully equipped gym, 18-metre indoor pool, sauna, steam room, aromatherapy room, jacuzzi, studio classes, and 18-hole hotel golf course.
The hotel is set in the picturesque village of Donnington and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. For a supplement of £35 you can bring your dog to stay and take advantage of the lovely country walks on the doorstep. Donnington Castle Ruin is a 20-minute walk from the hotel and they have thoughtfully provided wellington boots of all shapes and sizes for your muddy adventures.

My bother loves a workout and was impressed with the full suite of Matrix gym equipment, squat rack, and range of heavyweights to throw around. I was far more concerned with the Spa at Donnington Valley, so I left him to work up a sweat and went to investigate their treatments.
The Spa at Donnington Valley
The Spa at Donnington Valley is the first spa in the UK to offer Zionic Rollactive Radio Frequency, a groundbreaking non-invasive skin tightening and body contouring device. The Zionic device is a combination of deep active rotational massage and resistive radio frequency, designed to treat a range of body concerns including cellulite.

The treatment is not painful and works to heat up the fat cells and then remove them with a lymphatic massage. They recommend 6-10 treatments for optimal results and I think this would suit someone looking for that final snatch before a holiday or big event.
I also indulged in a Back to Life Temple Spa massage which the friendly Spa Manager Nikki expertly executed. Her magic hands treated me to a deep tissue back and leg massage and detoxified my back with a clay mask.
Great for families

The pool was alive with children, enjoying half term and with it being pet friendly this spa would suit families that want to indulge in some treatments and golf whilst enjoying some quality time with their loved ones.
