Hotel Saint; Perfectly Situated in the Heart of London

With a perfect mix of location, style and exceptional service, could Hotel Saint be the city’s hidden gem?

I was not prepared at all for the views the hotel boasts. I was in awe of the scene from my suite window on the 13th floor the moment I walked in. No matter what time of day it is, sunrise, sunset or the darkest hours, the view from my room at Hotel Saint is mesmerizing and can be enjoyed from bed!

Entering through a swing door, you are welcomed by warm tones and a sleek, modern lobby area. Check in is buzzing yet seamless and within minutes I was in the lift and on my way to my room.

There are 272 rooms in total along with various social spaces like the gym, the hotels signature restaurant and bar, The Cardinal Bar and Kitchen, plus the well-known rooftop bar Jin Bo Law.

The suite has floor to ceiling windows which overlook the city and it is well thought out with a partition separating the living area and bedroom. The bathroom featured both a bath and shower which I love, as you should always have the option with any hotel stay.

The hotel has been recently refreshed after it was taken over and renamed Hotel Saint, and the attention to detail showcased in the rooms is superb. Fresh flowers, a bottle of champagne left for me to enjoy, plus all the amenities at your fingertips. Even the bathroom freebies (which always somehow end up in my bag at check out, whoops) were thoughtful with makeup wipes not just the usual cotton pads and earbuds.

The hotel is situated just steps away from Aldgate tube (its literally next door!)  which makes it the ideal location for exploring the city, or perfect if in London for a business-based visit. The financial Square Mile is within walking distance.

Other points of interest such as Tower Bridge, The Shard and Tower of London are all also close by, not to mention the abundance of shopping, entertainment and nightlife in the surrounding vicinity. Spitalfields Market is always a good shout when in East London as its filled with artisan goods and some of London’s best street food!

As a Londoner, when staying at any London hotel I tend to make the most of the facilities on site, so it feels like a proper escape from my normal day to day. I decided to have some cocktails and dinner at The Cardinal Bar and Kitchen which is a cosy plant adorned space with a semi open kitchen. Choosing from a menu with global influences, dinner here had some appetising options.

I opted for the Burrata to start and couldn’t help but order the Tuna Tartare too! Main course ended up being Lamb Cutlets (which are actually one of my death row meals!). Each dish was well presented and flavourful. I was too full for dessert and I put that down to the fact I was a bottle of champagne down and had extra mash with my cutlets. I am 100% a savoury girl!

Breakfast is also served here each morning, but you do have the option of room service and having your first meal of the day in bed if that’s more your style. Due to my view, I wanted to utilise every single moment in my suite, so I ordered my brekkie to my room and watched the world go by from bed whilst munching on what I think are the biggest buttermilk pancakes I’ve ever had. Large portions of food seem to be a recurring theme at the hotel (and that is nothing to complain about!).

Noise levels are minimal despite being in a premier location, so I got to enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep and upon check out, I did go up to the Jin Bo Law for a last glimpse of the views from the 14th floor of the hotel plus one last cheeky cocktail.

With an unbeatable location and a 10/10 experience from start to finish, I left Hotel Saint with a very happy heart and full belly!
