Recently opened Langbourns, from the Metropolitan Pub Company, announces the unveiling of its Summer menu. The restaurant, which is opposite Leadenhall Market and features its very own oyster bar, will offer a refreshed and refined selection of dishes, catering to a diverse range of culinary preferences.
The new Langbourns Restaurant menu starts with a range of appetisers such as the distinctive Black pudding Scotch egg with burnt onion ketchup, Anchovy on toast with cured lemon & dill oil and Truffle & Prosociano arancini. Not to be overlooked is the freshly baked sourdough, served with either roast bone marrow or seaweed butter, as well as the oyster bar. Choose to have Colchester Rock Oysters served cold with buffalo hot sauce, mignonette sauce, or bacon jam with chives, or served hot crispy katsu curry style, Tempura with citrus mayonnaise, or Thermidor gratin.

For starters, opt for Pressed crispy lamb belly, charred broccoli, smoked anchovy butter or Laverstock Buffalo mozzarella, grilled artichokes, sour cherry harissa, among others. Langbourns is known for its fish and seafood, and have included a Classic Crayfish and prawn cocktail, a Salmon tartare, and Seared scallop. There are also options for vegetarians and vegans.
Mains are an array of both meat-based and seafood dishes, including Braised beef cheek & seaweed suet pudding, Dry aged rack of lamb, and Pan-fried Sea bass fillet. The restaurant continues its partnership with Gilmour’s Butchers for the impressive Grill section of the menu, featuring Scottish beef that has been dry aged for 35 days in state-of-the-art ageing chambers. The Grill menu includes a selection of offerings such as sirloin, ribeye, and a luxury côte de boeuf.

Desserts include firm favourites such as Sticky toffee pudding and Chocolate mousse, as well as Raspberry & coconut tart and Baked mango & passion fruit cheesecake. Additionally, there’s a selection of after-dinner beverages, including cocktails, herbal teas, and locally roasted coffees.
Langbourns popular cocktail special of 2 for £12 every Friday and Saturday is here to stay, with three limited edition Signature cocktails created for the summer season: The Premiere (Woodford Reserve Bourbon Whiskey, fresh strawberry, lavender honey, fresh mint, Angostura Bitter), Flower Market Sour (Hendricks Gin, lychee liqueur, darjeeling and jasmine syrup, honey, lemon juice, Prosecco), and Rum Dance (Havana Spiced Rum, Westhall No2 Rum, watermelon syrup, lime juice, vanilla, fresh pineapple juice).
