Introducing Wilsons Food Hall, Seamer near Scarborough

Wilson’s Food Hall is an independent, family-run business set up by husband-and-wife team Adrian and Louise Wilson in November 2024.

Since its launch, it’s rapidly become one of the Yorkshire coast’s standout success stories; a popular all-day bistro which combines a café, deli, wine bar, bakery, takeaway and community hub, all under one roof. Locals have already dubbed it ‘the beating heart of Seamer’ – a reflection of its warm atmosphere and strong community focus.

“We wanted to create a community space that would help put Seamer on the map,” says Adrian. “Our aim was to make a real difference for local people and visitors and to build something our family could be proud of. Everything else grows from that.”

Louise added: “The ethos of the business is built on quality, inclusivity and a broad offering for all. We’re so proud to have made our vision a reality. We saw a real gap in the market. There wasn’t anywhere built around quality coffee, fresh food and community – somewhere people of all ages could feel comfortable and welcomed throughout the day and evening.”

Open seven days a week, it’s a true community hub: A place to eat, meet and connect. Visitors can enjoy an in-house bakery producing fresh bread, cakes and pastries, a deli counter, and a welcoming bistro serving speciality tea and coffee, breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and evening meals. There’s also a thriving takeaway, including stone-baked pizzas, and a carefully curated wine cellar showcasing over 200 wines from small, independent vineyards.

The menus are ideal for all-day dining, from hearty breakfasts (full English, pancake stacks, French toast) to relaxed lunches (sandwiches, bagels, paninis and sharing boards) and ice creams for the kids. Evening dishes include pasta classics, Yorkshire pies and wine flights.
According to Adrian and Louise, Wilsons is also one of the few venues granted permission to serve H.R. Higgins coffee – holder of the prestigious Royal Warrant.

The venue has established itself as a lively events space and meeting point for local businesses, residents and visitors. Regular events include live music nights and book clubs, with upcoming additions such as a weekend walking group. Previous events include a Yorkshire beer evening with pie and peas, a Taittinger Champagne UK tasting and Piano Sunday – complete with local saxophonists and live singer.

Wilsons also champions local and regional independent producers, such as The Yorkshire Pasta Company and Bold Brew coffee, and artisan home scents from Embers Candle Company – all alongside its new premium Wilsons-branded coffee.
