At the Yorkshire College of Beauty, the team of experts is extensive and each, a specialist in their own field, contributes to this Yorkshire based beauty college having its award-winning status.
Over the last few months, we have been introducing you to the team and now we have more key people you need to know about. If you are considering a career in beauty therapy or fitness, look no further than the Yorkshire College of Beauty!

Let’s meet the team.
Lois Brook – Level 2 Tutor
I started off as an apprentice at the college when I was 17 and qualified in 2016. After qualifying I went on to work in salon and completed my assessors award. From there I enrolled to complete my teaching qualification and begun working at the college. I currently teach the level 2 apprenticeship groups and am in my third year of teaching! I love the fact that all the teachers who work here also studied here! It makes me wonder if any of the current students will become future beauty therapy teachers!

Sarah Ziemiecki – Receptionist
As the first point of contact with course enquiries, my job is to provide candidates with course information and guide them through the process from interview, to their first day at college. On arrival, I ensure that students have everything they need in terms of uniform and kit, before taking them to meet their tutors for induction.
My job is varied, which I really enjoy – I provide admin support for tutors as well as helping with the finance department and reception, welcoming clients and guests and answering the phones. I really enjoy my job and the variety that comes with it.

Charlotte Newbould – HR Manager
After joining YCOB In 2007 on the apprenticeship programme, I progressed from a student to a staff member and have been here ever since. I currently work in the HR department, managing absences and leave, producing contracts, updating documentation and everything in between. I have also just recently started working closely with the learners, offering guidance and supporting them if required, or directing them to the relevant external organisation if help beyond our capability is required. I love this role.

Debbie Marjerrison – Salon Liaison
I trained in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy in 1996, I currently work as a Salon Employment Co-ordinator where I assist our students in finding and securing placements in beauty salons and spas.
I ensure our students are working in a safe environment and liaise with students, parents and salons to ensure the students are happy and their apprenticeship journey with the Yorkshire College of
Beauty is an enjoyable and successful one.

Zara Middleton – Receptionist
I trained at the Yorkshire College of Beauty in 2015 on the advanced apprenticeship course. I now work as receptionist for the college. My job role is to support all tutors and office staff, ensuring they have the resources they need to carry out their work. I also support students in college when required. I regularly invigilate the examinations and ensure students have clients for their assessments, I am also the friendly voice on the other end of the phone when you contact us!
Alison Smith – Private Training Manager

I first came to the Yorkshire College of Beauty as a student in 2005, enrolling on the CIDESCO course, which I loved. After graduating, I found myself working as a spa therapist and later decided that I would quite like to go into teaching. Fate led me back to the college where I completed my teaching qualification and accepted the position of full-time Beauty Tutor.
Over the years, I have taught many students, preparing them to work in the industry as knowledgeable, competent therapists and this I feel is what the Yorkshire College of Beauty does well. As a team, we provide excellent training for the ‘therapists of tomorrow’ and have been doing so consistently for the past 38 years.
I still teach the beauty and CIDESCO students, but my role now includes overseeing the private courses, making sure our student’s journey from induction to graduation meets all their expectations and more!
