Following on from our recent introduction to Dr Raj Thethi’s new luxury aesthetics clinic, The Yorkshire Skin Centre, I paid a personal visit to find out more.
The Yorkshire Skin Centre is based on the outskirts of Leeds, just 20 minutes from Leeds city centre. It was easy to find and with plenty of on-site parking, this was ticking boxes straight away!
As you enter the clinic, you are immediately ‘wowed’ by the gorgeous design and attention to detail. No expense has been spared to realise Dr Raj’s dream of a luxurious yet relaxed experience. In fact, it is almost like checking into a beautiful spa or five-star hotel!
This purpose designed aesthetic clinic is spread over two large floors and offers an extensive treatment menu. We all want to hold back the signs of aging in a fresh, natural way and for me, this was more than a visit to look around, I was embarking on my own personal journey.
Having heard so much about Morpheus8 by InMode, the ‘Non-Surgical Facelift’ loved by Celebrities and A-Listers and having seen the procedure on ‘Look 10 Years Younger’ I wanted to see the results for myself.

To explain more about this treatment, three sessions are recommended for maximum results and this was to be my first of three. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous, but I knew I was in safe hands with specialist aesthetic practitioner, Elle.
Elle has a bachelor’s degree in Cosmetology with Medicine and brings over 10 years of experience in the field of aesthetics. Her passion for truly understanding her patients and their needs was obvious from the start. We chatted about my concerns and expectations and the process of Morpheus8, before, during and after each treatment.
Morpheus8 takes microneedling technology to the next level, using finer microneedles that go deeper into the skin than ever before. This means the treatment can more effectively stimulate new collagen formulation, rejuvenating your skin from within. A high radiofrequency is transmitted via these microneedles, delivering electric current into the deeper layers of skin to kickstart this collagen production; firming and tightening the treatment area.
To make the procedure as painless as possible, a topical numbing cream was applied to my face and neck and while the cream did its thing, I was placed on a bed which massaged my neck and back, (this was bliss and I totally relaxed), and my legs were placed in lymphatic drainage compression trousers. This may not sound very relaxing but take it from me I was asleep in no time!
After 40 minutes my face and neck were completely numb, the cream had worked its magic and I was ready for my first Morpheus8.
Elle explained exactly what she was going to do and if I experienced any discomfort at any time, I was to let her know.
I heard the machine injecting the needles into my skin but didn’t really feel anything. It wasn’t unpleasant and I certainly would not be nervous about my following treatments.
The actual procedure took about 30 minutes and although at the end of it my face and neck were redder than a post box(!), I had no pain or discomfort at all. The following morning most of the redness had disappeared and I did have some slight swelling and bruising to the areas given the most attention.
The slight swelling was gone within two days and although the bruising lasted a few days, they were easy to cover up with concealer. However, I was pleased that I had the treatment on a Friday, with no plans for the weekend. This gave my skin time to heal.
So the good news is, there is little (if any) downtime with Morpheus8. I have my second and third treatments four weeks apart and once the results start to kick in, they continue to improve over time, for up to a year in fact! Then it is a case of maintenance.
