Have you heard of Jecca Blac the makeup for all genders?

We were intrigued and wanted to find out more, this seemed such an interesting topic to explore within the beauty industry and were immediately impressed by the brand’s passion and influences.

Let us introduce you to the founder of Jecca Blac, Jessica Blacker, who started off by working in Film and TV as a makeup artist in London. With industry standard experience to hand, Jessica then started the Jecca Blac studio, where she offered a safe space for trans women to experiment with makeup.

The Jecca Blac studio soon established itself within the local trans community as the go-to space for private makeup lessons.

Jessica offered a judgement free setting where clients could gain makeup knowledge, giving them the confidence to present as themselves. She then provided voluntary makeup lessons to trans prisoners completing their sentence in Parc Prison in Wales – an all-male category B prison.

Upon realising the shortcomings of the beauty industry by not considering the needs of trans women, Jessica was inspired by her clients to create a cruelty free brand which celebrates all makeup wearers.

To better understand the needs of her clients Jessica frequently meets with LGBTQ charities, speaking with potential clients and building her reputation within the trans community.

“Our first product, the Correct & Conceal Palette, was designed to help provide long lasting coverage for beard shadow, blemishes and an all over base. This product was the industry’s first ever concealer marketed to cover beard shadow. We proudly continue to create innovative products, with the help of our customer feedback.

At Jecca Blac, we truly feel that #MakeupHasNoGender. That is why our collection is gender free, and we strive to create products catering to all makeup wearers.”

Jecca Blac’s mission is to be a brand that represents all beauty lovers: all expressions, genders, sexualities, abilities, pronouns, shapes and sizes. As well as providing cruelty free makeup products they also help bring our beautiful community together.

We think Jecca Blac is an amazing find!

Be authentic to yourself, celebrate your uniqueness, and be fearless – you look fabulous.
