Ageing is inevitable, it happens to the best of us. After the age of 35 to 40 you really do start to see noticeable changes to your face and skin. You can fight it all you want with healthy eating, good sleep and slapping on the SPF. But sometimes a little help goes a long way.
And – if it can be done within an hour – with literally no down time, then even better! Let’s slow that ageing process right down!
New technologies and better treatments for our ageing skin are developing at lightning speed at the moment. One of the newest and most incredible devices has just arrived at The Clinic in Holland Park.
Ladies and gentlemen…..may I introduce your new best friend for increasing collagen, lifting the skin and banishing wrinkles – Sofwave. It’s creating a huge buzz in the industry for many reasons but mostly because it works. With no painful after effects, bruising or need to stay out of the sun, it’s the perfect solution for those in need of a quick and safe option for their skin concerns. You can literally get on with your day while the procedure gets to work under the deep layers of your skin.
The collagen and elastin remodelling process can naturally lift the neck, brow and submental (that pesky bit under the chin), all the while improving fine lines, wrinkles and even cellulite. All without causing damage, redness or discomfort, unlike other aggressive options.
I was invited into The Clinic to try this clever machine myself. Long concerned about my inherited hooded eyelids I wanted to see if I could achieve any lift. In the past 5-10 years I’ve definitely seen a drooping and puffiness beginning to hang over my eyes. I was considering painful surgery, scrolling through images of scarred and sore looking eyelids, trying to figure out how I could take time off to have it done. And also how I could wear sunglasses for a week or two without anyone getting suspicious in this typical rainy British summertime!
Sofwave was about to squash all of those problems!
I was delighted to see Dr. Jenny Doyle at the clinic again. She is always so knowledgeable and kind, explaining in detail all that the procedure entailed. We talked through my feelings and expectations about my problem areas and took many before photos – obviously this is not for the faint hearted – but so worth it in the end! I was offered numbing cream which took half an hour to settle. There is also the option to have a small injection into the nerve to stop more pain – I chose to go with just the numbing.
This is a Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam Technology you see, and yes, there will be some discomfort but it is over so very quickly. I’d say a second of pain is worth it for the incredible results! And again – I cannot stress this enough – once it’s done there is simply no sign it’s happened. It really is a miracle.
The beam was placed underneath my eyebrow line and it took around 10 minutes to complete. In such a short space of time I doubted there would be much of a change. After all, the results of this session would keep improving over 12 weeks. Incredibly I could see the crease lines of my eyelids straight away. And they have been hiding for quite a while! Immediately I could see that time had been turned back. They were still my eyes, but from 10 years ago, before many sleepless nights (kids!) and the adding of a few more candles onto my birthday cake. Impressive is an understatement. I had my eyelids back!
And the results kept coming. With no downtime, no pain or swelling, I simply got on with my life. After a few weeks I started to notice how much easier applying my eye make-up felt. I also got several compliments from friends who couldn’t quite put their finger on it – how I was looking so well and rested. What was my secret?
Sofwave is my secret! It fits seamlessly into a busy life, no pain afterwards and with quick and steady results. Giving you back that youthful sparkle in a non-invasive and natural way. I’m thrilled with the results and would advise anyone to choose this option over a painful, and long winded surgery.
