Brighton is always so vibrant and packed with lots of things to do for any day out or staycation, but this modern marvel is one of the most exciting additions to the seaside.
At 162 metres high, the i360 observation tower offers a 360 view of Brighton. Standing tall against the blue horizon, this attraction captures the spirit of Brighton from the clouds. With breathtaking views all round, it makes for a very memorable visit.
Some fun facts– the tower was built from the top down and the pod weighs 100 tonnes. 175 people can fit comfortably and it has been designed so that you can walk around taking in the uninterrupted views.
During my trip to Brighton, I stayed at the conveniently situated Double Tree Hilton. My contemporary, seafront room featured a large balcony (from which I could see the spaceship like attraction!!). It was the ideal base as it is only about a two minute walk away to the tower and in all honesty, I don’t like to walk far!
I took two rides in the sleek pod, one in the daytime at lunchtime and the other just before sunset at 8.30pm. The evening experience called Seascape, just recently launched in June and you can book to have cocktails in the sky. The views are incredible both day and night, and thankfully the weather was on my side and the sundowner experience quickly became my fave!
During this unique event, you can sit back and relax as the pod journeys several times letting people hop and on off. This gives you plenty of time to sip and enjoy your drinkies in the clouds and take it all in for a truly unforgettable night. Seascape is for over 18’s for obvious reasons, with prices starting at £20 when booked ahead online.
The bar menu offers creative cocktails all inspired by the sea with a wow factor. I chose the ‘Sussex Siren’ which comes complete with a smoke cloud. The staff at the bar were happy to recommend tipples and just as excited to make them with all the special theatrical touches! There are also mocktails available should you not want to drink because of the altitude!
If you want to elevate your experience to whole other level (12,530ft to be exact!) then the i360 is just the ticket!
