The Woodside: Eat, Drink and Stay in Beautiful Scotland

The Woodside is located in the heart of the Forth Valley. It is being heavily developed to offer a modern, contemporary 140 cover venue with 11 beautiful bedrooms.

Owned by Stuart Riddle and his wife Joanna, who are now owners of several hospitality companies, and are creating a portfolio of pubs, restaurants and hotels, the much-anticipated opening of The Woodside is scheduled for October 27th.

In 2013, they developed the Stirling Arms into The Riverside – pub, kitchen and coffee house. It is situated on the river in the heart of Dunblane. In 2018, they renovated The Allan Park Hotel which was renamed The Allan Park – pub, restaurant and coffee house with rooms. In November of 2021 they became the owners of their third property, The Woodside Hotel now known simply as The Woodside.

Their ethos is simple. Simple things done well.

Their food is not ‘fancy’, you will never see a ‘foam’ on their menus, and anyone can make a burger, but if it is done well, it can be a truly wonderful thing. The Woodside will feature a fantastic pub with a full range of premium beers, lagers, gins, wines and cocktails etc, a fantastic coffee house with hand roasted coffee, home baking, scones, a fantastic restaurant with home-made, locally sourced breakfasts, lunches, bar snacks and full meals. There’s an outside terrace with 64 covers, log burning stove, 11 letting rooms and a function suite.

As a team of passionate professionals with a long history in pubs, hotels and restaurants, it is their aim to share their love of food, drink and above all good times with you.

Their journey began in the mid-nineties with each of them having worked in nearly every position, both front of house and in the kitchens, in some of Scotland’s best hotels, pubs and restaurants. It has taken Stuart and Joanna to many different parts of the world and all over the British Isles during the last 20 years.

Deciding to turn their vision of the perfect pub and restaurant into bricks and mortar, they chose wonderful Stirlingshire, a captivating part of Scotland that is home to a wealth of incredible foods, food producers, breweries and distilleries.

Since taking over The Woodside, they have been working hard to transform the building into a truly special pub, restaurant and coffee house.

“Whatever reason you may have for visiting us – a healthy or hearty breakfast, a coffee with home-baking beside our wood burning stove, fantastic food with family in our restaurant, a glass of wine or a local beer with friends in our terrace – we assure you of a friendly welcome from staff who care.”

“The Woodside really will be our dream come true and we look forward to welcoming you through its doors.”
