The newly revamped Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly has officially completed their extensive renovations. The hotel, part of Marriott’s prestigious portfolio of over 30 hotel brands, is now fully open and accepting guests.
We sent our writer, Rachel McAlley to check out the newly upgraded rooms at the Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly. What did she think of this Manchester stalwart hotel?
Manchester is one of my favourite northern cities, is has everything a visitor could ask for. Museums, galleries, sports stadiums, music venues, restaurants, bars, excellent shopping, and outstanding hotels.
Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly

I recently stayed at the Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly, where I relaxed in room 841 on the eighth floor. It offers fantastic views over the immediate Mayfield area. My Executive King room had a bath and a separate shower in the bathroom (rare these days to have both). Included in the bedroom was a double sofa in the lounge area, with comfy chair and giant flat screen TV. Furthermore, a Nespresso machine and complimentary mini cakes.
The bedroom at 301 square feet, makes it one of the biggest, meaning there was plenty of room to relax! Additionally, the colour scheme evoked a calm space, with neutral colours and pristine white bedding. The bed was made with two pillows, and further pillows could be found above the wardrobe. A little luxury with a robe and slippers in the bathroom plus quality toiletries, added a nice, unexpected touch!
Overall, this is an exceptionally comfortable space for just one night or more in the city of Manchester.
Reception, Lobby, & Breakfast

The lobby and Great Room Lounge are two of the newly revamped spaces. Guests can check-in and then get a cocktail, hot drink, snacks or lunch. I spent a couple of hours in the lounge and enjoyed a hot chocolate whilst flicking through some of the Manchester-focussed books on offer.
Moreover, there’s an extra special addition to the Great Room, The Lobby Phone. This phone is in a private booth, in the Manchester United football club colours. The sign outside the booth says to step inside and listen to never-heard-before stories from Manchester United players, legends, and fans.
This is a wonderful experience for all guests and visitors to enjoy especially if you’re a Manchester United fan, and is completely free of charge!

Breakfast was served in the Loom & Ladle Bistro, located on the first floor, away from the main hub of the lobby. It was nice to see breakfast being taken in its own designated dining area, rather than as usual next to a hotel reception location.
The breakfast included everything you would expect from a Marriott Hotel, hot buffet, continental options, juices, pastries, and eggs cooked any style. Very good quality produce, and the serving team were lovely to chat to.
As I was visiting on a weekend, I didn’t take the opportunity to use the M Club Lounge, but I could have used the room during the week to work from, at a charge of just £25. The price includes hot drinks, soft drinks, lunch, snacks, and free WiFi between 10am and 4pm daily.
