Sun, sand, and the sound of soca — the Anguilla Summer Festival is back. Running from 10 July – 9 August 2026, this month-long celebration, themed “Anguilla for Summer”, invites visitors and locals alike to experience the Caribbean island at its most vibrant.
Anguilla’s biggest summer festival party is packed with street parades, soca and calypso live music shows, thrilling boat races, lively beach parties, pageants that celebrate the talent and beauty of local Anguillians, and delicious culinary events serving sizzling local specialities.
Also known as Carnival, the Anguilla Summer Festival is a showcase of the rich culture of this tiny island nation, celebrating its indigenous roots through cuisine, art, music, dance and the national sport of Boat Racing. Unmissable events include Parade of Troupes, Eyes Wide Shut fete and August Monday Caribbean Beach Party, each bringing an exciting vibe that rocks the whole island.

The Anguilla Tourist Board’s newly launched summer campaign “Anguilla: Taste. Feel. Live.” perfectly complements the Summer Festival, showcasing the island as a vibrant, year-round Caribbean destination that creates meaningful connections between visitors and the authentic experiences that define the island.
The festival’s roots are found in traditional August Monday fairs and bazaars. One of the most significant days is the first Monday of August, closely associated to 1 August 1838, the day when enslaved Africans in British colonies were freed of chattel slavery after centuries of enslavement. Anguilla started its formal August Monday celebration in 1940, making the 2026 event the 52nd of its kind.

Since then, the island’s national sport of Boat Racing, born out of the Anguillians’ natural love for the sea, has been merged with other cultural aspects of carnival. The modern festivities exude the same charm and spirit as the early days, plus many of the resorts and larger properties offering additional entertainment too.
From the electrifying boat races to the vibrant carnival parades, high-energy fetes and unforgettable cultural moments, key events this year include, but are not limited to, the following:
