British 100% lambs wool luxury products

Let us introduce you to a unique, Yorkshire based company with a focus on biodegradability and the lowest carbon footprint possible. Not only do they produce and sell the most beautiful British 100% lambswool luxury products, they also oversee the whole process from the start.

From meeting the sheep and farmers out in the isolated British countryside, buying their raw greasy wool, scouring the wool in recycled water, combing and spinning into yarn, feeding through the looms to eventually create stunning lambs wool cloth for luxury throws and other high end products.

Everything kept local, proudly made within a Yorkshire woollen mill, using original machinery and traditional methods.

This is The Wilde Sheep Company.

This proud Yorkshire family business has a combined 150 years’ experience working in the British wool industry and proudly supports British farmers by purchasing their highest quality soft wool directly, paying them the fair price they deserve.

The Wilde Sheep Company state that wool is a superior product…heres why.

Wool has many wonderful characteristics from being naturally antibacterial, fire resistant, odour repellent, 100% biodegradable releasing valuable nutrients back into the ground and it is renewable which means it will automatically and naturally renew and grow on the animals without any human intervention.

One of the main alternatives to wool and heavily produced, is synthetic. Synthetic is a man made bi-product of petroleum and chemicals, created using high energy, usually in the Far East. Synthetic takes an incredibly long time to decompose, 1000’s of years and very sadly accumulate in overseas landfills releasing toxins into the ground.

Face behind the business, Samantha told us, “Our ethical approach to sustainability and the environment ensures our luxury products and packaging are of the lowest carbon footprint possible to us, everything we do is with a 100% environmentally friendly approach.

Our wool hasn’t travelled many thousands of miles to reach our homes. It is grown here in our precious British countryside and crafted here, in a traditional Yorkshire mill.

We take inspiration from the countryside surrounding us to introduce new colours and textures to our sumptuous range of wool products, taking time to create new exciting designs.”

The family has a combined 150 years working in the woollen industry. Samantha’s Grandma is 95 years old and remembers her days working in the famous Salts Mill with its distinctive smell and loud noises, such a historical and vibrant working atmosphere!

A few wool facts:
