The Perfect Spa Break in Yorkshire

Let’s set the scene for my fantastic New Year’s Eve at the Thorpe Park Hotel & Spa in Leeds. As a dedicated end of life dementia nurse working 12-hour shifts over the festive season, with a hectic schedule of blogging, panto reviews, two other social media manager jobs and writing for H&N Magazine, it was a pretty full on three weeks run up to my Christmas a stay here which was most definitely needed.

I had heard good things about Thorpe Park Hotel & Spa and couldn’t wait to see for myself. We arrived early for check in and walked into the most spectacular Christmas tree and an open roaring fire. The reception was more than happy to let us check in early as our room was ready.

Being Yorkshire Blogger of The Year, I appreciate everything to do with Yorkshire and was dead chuffed to see my room was heavily Yorkshire influenced with The Arctic Monkeys Mardy Bum Cups, Yorkshire landmark themed artwork and little touches such as Yorkshire Tea teabags. There were coffees and biscuits and a Tassimo coffee machine. I also loved the quirky little milk machines on the corridors, it was all very me!

The bed was massive and you also had your choice of pillows and with the White Company pillow sprays, eye masks and earplugs, we were guaranteed a fantastic night’s sleep. I can confirm I slept really well and woke up feeling like a new woman.

Myself and my partner Richard enjoyed the New Year’s Gala Dinner with five courses, canapes and fizz on arrival which was kept topped up by the attentive staff. There were posh crackers, little gifts and a bottle of wine on the table, the hotel really had pulled out all the stops and nothing was too much trouble. The food was to die for with my favourite being the Tournedo of Beef.

I can off the record say we didn’t make it to midnight to see in the New Year, we ended up sparko in bed full to the brim with fabulous food and drink at 11.30! But this meant we were up ready and roaring to go at 5am the next morning.

We had a fabulous time at the spa and went for a swim, a dip in the jacuzzi and braved it in the steam room, let me tell you having a bit of relaxing ‘me time’ really does do wonders.

Our stay ended with the highly recommended Thorpe Park Full English, and it really didn’t disappoint, I had 3 courses, muesli yoghurt and fruit a croissant and the full English for good measure, the food was excellent.

I came away from the Thorpe Park Hotel & Spa feeling like a new woman ready to storm into 2023!

If you are looking for a relaxing spa break this year I highly recommend a visit to Thorpe Park Hotel & Spa, you won’t be disappointed.
