Join the Zoom Pilates Fitness Revolution

Hi, I’m Debbie Jaye, I am 57 years old and I live in Brighton, East Sussex with my husband Nick and an 11 year old Boston Terrier called Harley. I’ve got two sons, aged 31 and 30.

I started teaching Pilates in 2007, having been doing Pilates and other forms of fitness for about 20 years.

However, as I reached my 40’s, my joints started to get a bit achy and different, more challenging things were happening in my life and I found that Pilates was the one thing that really helped me. Not just physically but mentally too, helping me to keep things together and stay on track.

I was teaching in gyms and studios and 1:1 sessions in people’s homes up to March 2020, that is of course when the pandemic struck and the first lockdown began. As everywhere started to shut down and people were advised to stay at home, I had to rethink of ways to keep myself fit mentally and physically, but I also wanted to find a way to reach out to those I had been teaching.

With the help and encouragement of my family, I started teaching online via Zoom and was able to connect with lots of people who I had been teaching, not just locally now but further afield too. The beauty my classes being online is that I can teach from anywhere – to anywhere, so long as I have access to the internet.

I have even been teaching some people living in New York and those on their travels in various countries, plus teaching a corporate group online for the last 18 months.

My classes range from beginner level to more advanced. There is no gym membership or any need to travel anywhere! We can use things you find around your home to workout with and at the end of every month, I teach a fun themed Friday class where people can dress up, have a laugh, enjoy the music and get fit all the same time!

In addition to my Pilates classes, I also teach stretch and well-being, encouraging movement and mindfulness.

It’s not just about physical fitness but improving mental well-being and quality of life. If this sounds like something you would like to try, you can find out more about me and my classes at  www.djpilates.com

Let’s do this together!
