Have you heard of Meatbox? Neither had we, but when this unique, independent business approached us to see if we would like to receive and review one of their fresh meat boxes, (being true carnivores), we jumped at the chance!
Unleash The BBQ Carnivore In You! – Within seconds we were scouring their website to see what they do and find the perfect meat box for us. So, I need to explain that at the time the weather was roasting, and it was BBQ central throughout the country; “Perfect” we thought, “let’s get the BBQ Box we will be the envy of the neighbourhood!”
We chose this particular box as all our BBQ favourites are included, they even come ready marinated, perfect for a gastronomic BBQ success, a full selection of carefully selected meats from west country farms.

We couldn’t wait, we were like excited children waiting for Santa to arrive and once it was in our mitts, we couldn’t wait to fire up that barbe! Guess what? The day of delivery it started to rain and didn’t stop for a whole week! Catastrophe…we had to freeze the lot!
Like people possessed we checked the 5-day weather forecast every day to see when we could expect to re-book our BBQ extravaganza. Finally, the weather broke, and we were delighted to welcome back hot sunny weather. The BBQ was back on!
Unleash the BBQ Carnivore in you
This was possibly the easiest BBQ we have ever hosted, as everything was ready marinated and prepared, all I had to do was a salad and some sides…job done! The aromas coming from that grill had everyone standing around salivating, we couldn’t wait to dive in, and we were not disappointed. The chicken was possibly the most tender, melt in the mouth chicken we have ever had and the spiciness from the Piri Piri marinade was perfect.
There was enough meat on each of those ribs to feed a small family, the sausages we all agreed were the best we have ever had and the burgers were so lean they had people asking for seconds, even though they were in a bread bun which made them very filling! Which leaves the Chinese marinated pork steaks. They were a meal in themselves and were so tender and tasty, we want the recipe for the marinade. This had been a resounding success.
The difference in the quality, flavour and texture of every bit of produce we received from Meatbox was obvious with every mouthful, confirmed by the satisfied “mmmmmm” sounds our guests made as they ate. We will definitely be ordering from Meatbox again, it’s so convenient and really reasonably priced for such beautiful quality produce.
Their beef (burgers) is from grass-fed new forest cattle, while the pork used in the sausages, ribs and steaks comes from pigs allowed to roam freely around the farm. The chicken is from Devon and is free-range and corn-fed. All meats are from small ethically run farms in the South of England and the New Forest with no added water, salt or sugar just 100% meat that tastes great.
