The Punch Bowl in Mayfair: Punching Above and Beyond

The Punch Bowl on Farm Street in Mayfair is now open, following a complete refurbishment, breathing new life into this iconic London pub.

Once owned by Guy Ritchie, The Punch Bowl is no stranger to celebrities or front page news. In the trusted hands of Butcombe Pubs & Inns (part of The Liberation Group), the Punch Bowl is welcoming a new chapter where great food and drink sits at the heart of its offering.

Now offering a completely new menu dedicated to Modern British cuisine, dining at The Punch Bowl starts with breakfast. Dive into a trio or half dozen of oysters, or keep it simple with a bacon butty or two eggs cooked to your preference. Alternatively set yourself up for the day ahead with a Punch Bowl Grill to share, ideal for a breakfast meeting, or a slow start with friends – mornings have never tasted so good.

From lunchtime through to dinner, seasonal dishes that champion the best British suppliers   are the order of the day.  Seafood sourced from the South West Coast of Devon and Cornwall means you can indulge in star options like Prawn Cocktail and of course Fish and Chips. Pies will also be a regular feature from a shared Chicken pie to an Ox Cheek pie for one. The Daily Grill will offer daily changing Prime Meat Cuts, and sides such as Creamed Spinach or Koffman’s Chips will be sure to complement anything you choose. Of course no great pub is complete without a Sunday Roast and The Punch Bowl is no different. In celebration of their partnership with Tim Johnson’s farm in Wiltshire, their Aberdeen Angus x Hereford Beef with all the trimmings will be the (only) order of the day and well worth the wait.

The Punch Bowl Mayfair

Arranged over three floors The Punch Bowl has been reconfigured to now feel like one collective space with the same menu available throughout. Decorated in warm natural hues complemented with jewel coloured upholstery in a palate of rich blues, teal and rusty red, the entire space is warm and welcoming, but with each floor offering a different ambience.

The ground floor embodies a traditional pub atmosphere where guests can enjoy a drink of their choice, either at the bar or at a table. Choose from a selection of Butcombe beers including the award winning Butcombe Original, Goram IPA Zero and Tall Tales Pale Ale. For those after a fine wine, kick starting with a glass of Coates & Seely English sparkling is always a good idea, and of course if more of a kick is required then any of The Punch Bowl’s expertly made cocktails are a must.

Continuing from the ground floor the middle floor is perfect for relaxing with friends, family and colleagues with comfortable armchair seating  creating a convivial dining room feel where everyone is welcome. Sitting at the top of the building is a space for private dining and events. From intimate dinner celebrations to office gatherings and family reunions, it’s a place you can feast in union and enjoy your own selection of The Punch Bowl’s food and drink.

Jayson Perfect, COO, Liberation Group says: ““We’re delighted with the new look Punch Bowl and can’t wait to welcome regulars and new faces back through the doors once again.  We’ve brought this iconic Mayfair pub back to life with stunning new interiors on all three levels and an exciting menu, to put this quintessential pub firmly back on the map. The Punch Bowl is now once again, quite rightly, front and centre of Mayfair’s social scene serving the very best, award winning food and drink in stylish surroundings, offering a warm welcome and top-notch hospitality.”

The Punch Bowl encapsulates Butcombe Pubs & Inns’ desire to create great pubs that deliver a memorable experience. Determined to create spaces that offer both style and substance – be it for a drink, or a three-course meal, The Punch Bowl will always leave a lasting impression no matter what time of day you visit.
