British Grill Restaurant, Pearly Cow, Launches New Autumn Menu

Pearly Cow, the independent collection of grill restaurants in Brighton, Margate and York, is introducing a host of new dishes across its three sites, bringing fresh seasonal flavours to the menus – while keeping its signature much-loved steaks, oysters and cocktails in the spotlight, of course!

Championing the finest of British produce, each Pearly Cow restaurant has introduced a selection of new starters, mains and desserts, offering variety across the restaurants that reflects the individual character of each destination and kitchen. From locally sourced seafood to indulgent cuts of meat, the new additions are refined, balanced and comforting.

In Brighton, new starters include local scallops with beef fat garlic butter (£18), winter-leaning braised pig cheeks with celeriac purée (£14) and charred mackerel with malted yoghurt and dill oil (£10). For mains, there’s short rib of Sussex wagyu, served with polenta and wild mushroom sauce (£30), whole grilled local plaice with cider, roast fish cream and samphire (£25), and charcoal-grilled brined poussin with burnt leeks, roast garlic and parsley (£28).

Those with a sweet tooth can finish with the Pearlybocker Glory (£10), updated for the season with a decadent combination of vanilla and chocolate ice cream, salted caramel sauce, fudge, chocolate cake and Italian meringue, or the Dubai chocolate soufflé with pistachio ice cream (£10).

Up in the marvellous Regency surroundings of York, the Pearly Cow menu welcomes barbecued Rosso prawns with nduja butter and lemon (£14), tuna tataki with sesame, ginger and soy (£15), and a trio of tacos (£15) (beef fillet tartare, goat’s cheese or cod fillings) for starters. An exciting centrepiece is the 900g porterhouse (£115) with peppercorn, chimichurri and Béarnaise sauces, glazed onion and herb-crumbed bone marrow. For those not needing such a feast, flame-roasted spatchcock poussin with sofrito and red wine sauce (£30), and slow-braised short rib with creamy herb mash and mushroom sauce (£28) are also on offer. The much-loved sticky toffee soufflé, served with toffee sauce, is also making a welcome return to the dessert menu!

In Margate, seafood lovers can look forward to smoked mackerel fillet with apple and celeriac slaw (£8), and grilled scallops with garlic, parsley and sourdough (£15). New mains include Blythburgh pork cutlet cooked on the grill with apple butter and crackling (£27), alongside a 1kg salt-aged Côte de Boeuf (£110 for two). Served with fries, peppercorn and chimichurri sauces, and two glazed onions, the Côte de Boeuf makes for an indulgent sharing course – whatever the occasion – with the option to add prawns, garlic snails or scallops for an additional £8. To finish, desserts include dark chocolate tart with crème fraîche and raspberries (£12), and lemon and berry trifle with limoncello, custard, berries and Chantilly (£12).

While each menu brings something new to the table – and plenty to get excited about – the latest additions build on what Pearly Cow does best: championing the finest local produce for an indulgent but welcoming dining experience. With plenty to tempt diners across all three sites, there’s every reason to make Pearly Cow your next dining destination.
