If you know anything about ‘Team H&N’, it is that we are massive foodies! Especially where a Sunday roast is concerned. It doesn’t get any better than a lovely, long, lazy Sunday dining experience.
A few weeks ago, we were invited to visit The Fourth Floor Brasserie in Harvey Nichols, Leeds for a late Sunday lunch and what a treat this turned out to be!
Having eaten here a few times in the week, I already knew how great the whole experience was, however my dining partner (hubby), had never been, so it was interesting to see if he thought it was as good as I did.
On arrival, the restaurant was buzzing with diners, there was a really cool vibe and it was the first thing Dave commented on. There was chatting, laughing and a great atmosphere, plus the food being taken to other tables looked stunning – it was just a great place to be.

Once seated at our table, we ordered drinks and looked over the menus, we had the choice of the main menu alongside the Sunday lunch menu, but for us it had to be Sunday lunch all the way. Three courses and a cocktail for £30 in this fabulous setting, in the centre of Leeds is a must.
We started with Confit Corn-Fed Chicken Breast, sweet and sour celeriac, egg yolk purée, herb emulsion, serrano ham crumb and Honey and, Rosemary Baked Crottin Cheese, pickled beetroot, apple, charred shallots, hazelnut dressing, focaccia crisps (v).

What a way to start a meal! First you eat with your eyes and these plates of deliciousness looked almost too good to eat – almost. We took our time because although they looked picture perfect, they tasted even better.
We both chose the same main course of Roasted Venison Loin, braised red cabbage, celeriac, venison faggot, garlic and thyme mashed potato, red wine jus. It is difficult to find the words to express just how delicious this dish is. So good that if that was the only thing we ate that day, we would have left feeling we had eaten an award-winning plate of food!

Desserts are not really our thing but thank goodness we decided to try them. Rhubarb Bakewell Tart, ginger crumb crème patisserie, poached rhubarb (v) and Lemon Curd Cream, brandy snap, Italian meringue, red wine poached pear (v). Both light, bursting with flavour, there was nothing left on either plate!
The service was fantastic, the surroundings luxurious, the atmosphere chilled and perfect for a late lunch, but the food was on another level!
The Fourth Floor Brasserie combines award-winning design and food for the perfect city-centre dining experience, and this was certainly perfect.
A wall of windows reveals a striking city-rooftop vista, while stunning metallic finishes, teal leather seats and statement mirrors and lighting all contribute to the Brasserie’s luxurious setting.
A seasonally changing menu takes diners on a culinary exploration of Yorkshire’s finest produce. Each dish showcases fresh local food of the highest quality, from the delights of spring to the fruits of summer; autumnal palate-pleasers to home-cooked winter favourites.
This could be our new favourite place to go for a fabulous meal, fine wine and a glass of champagne, whilst enjoying views across the city’s rooftops.
Next time you’re in Leeds, treat yourself to this brilliant dining experience at The Fourth Floor Brasserie. Or enjoy the views of Leeds from their outdoor terrace while sipping a glass of champagne (or few)!

You will definitely see us there!
