Speciality Services Announced on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway this Spring and Summer

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) has announced an exciting line-up of speciality services and immersive experiences this spring and beyond.

From comforting dining journeys to lively themed events, there is something for everyone to enjoy with North Yorkshire Moors Railway, along one of Britain’s most scenic heritage railways.

Event highlights include:

  • Fish & Chips Service – 25th, 29th April
North Yorkshire Moors Railway

Final tickets are available for this special service, a relaxed dining experience featuring freshly prepared fish and chips from award winning Capplemans of Pickering. Diners will travel from Pickering to Goathland and back, enjoying the scenic views alongside their meal, with tea, coffee and optional home-made cream scone, served on the return journey.

  • Mini Beer Festival – 2nd, 3rd, 4th May

Celebrate May Bank Holiday with a relaxed and welcoming Mini Beer Festival set in Goathland Station Tearoom. Guests can enjoy seven hand-picked ales from local breweries, alongside a guest cider and a selection of wines and prosecco. Running across three days (or until the barrels run dry), visitors can hop on and off the railway whilst soaking up the atmosphere at Goathland.

  • North Yorkshire Pullman Afternoon Tea – 9th, 10th June

Enjoy a classic afternoon tea experience in style whilst travelling through the North York Moors. Guests are welcomed with a drink before indulging in a selection of savoury goodies followed by freshly baked scones, cakes, and sweet treats on the return journey. Tea, coffee, and handmade speciality chocolates will also be available.

  • Gin Tasting Experience – 23rd June

In collaboration with Whitby Distillery, this unique offering gives guests the chance to sample a curated selection of gins paired with delicious light bites. All whilst travelling through the stunning moorland on board the Great Western Saloon.

  • North Yorkshire Pullman Cream Tea – 27th June

This delightfully relaxed experience is perfect for families and friends who want to enjoy a savoury course of either local butcher’s pork pie or vegetarian quiche followed by a traditional cream tea with freshly baked scones, jam, and cream.

  • Wine Tasting Experience – 30th June

Friends and family can gather for a delightful wine tasting journey through the North York Moors to enjoy a selection of wines accompanied by a charcuterie sharing board. This relaxing experience takes place within the heritage carriage, the Great Western Saloon.

  • North Yorkshire Pullman Yorkshire Day Ploughman’s – 1st, 2nd August

Mark Yorkshire Day with a hearty Ploughman’s Afternoon Tea. On the 18-mile return journey, guests can enjoy a welcome drink followed by a generous Ploughman’s selection, with both traditional and vegetarian options available, all served in beautifully restored heritage carriages.
