Lion Brewery Co Pale Ale and Island Lager
Back bigger, better and more fierce than ever, Lion Brewery Co return to the UK after a 72-year hiatus with two noteworthy ales. Their Pale Ale has an aromatic, tropical profile which was originally designed to be enjoyed in the warmer climes of Southeast Asia, but is now available to enjoy here in the UK.
The brand’s Island Lager is a clean, crisp and dry-hopped pilsner, defined by its pine aroma and hints of elderflower. The result is a highly quaffable beer that goes down like a dream. Both can be purchased directly from the Lion Brewery Co online shop from £2.15 a can and from £47 for a 24 can crate.
Allsop’s Pale Ale and India Pale Ale
Another legendary British brewer to return after decades in the wilderness is Allsopp’s, who have bounced back with an impressive pair of pale ale’s. Their classic Pale Ale offers a crisp, sessionable and contemporary take on the traditional tipple, whilst the India Pale Ale offers a more complex twist on their original Burton IPA.
Both are available direct from the Allsopp online shop with prices starting at £22.50 for 8 x 500ml bottles.
Aldi Strawberry Lager, Grapefruit Pale Ale and 10-4 British Lager
Aldi have been pushing the boat lately as far as beer innovation goes, and their fruity strawberry flavoured We’re Jamming lager delivers. Crisp and balanced with a tasty berry aroma, it’s a bona-fide fruit bomb in a can.
Meanwhile, for something a little more refreshing and vibrant, their Sharp Tongue grapefruit pale ale is designed to send your taste buds into overdrive. For purists, their impressive 10-4 British Lager offers an extremely drinkable take on blonde Pilsner that will have you reaching back in the fridge for more.
Available from Aldi stores nationwide, these are well worth a pick up on your next shopping trip.
