A Perfect Afternoon Tea

Taking Afternoon Tea at Rockliffe Hall

If you are in desperate need of something to look forward to in the coming months (when we’re able to enjoy the world once again), or want to treat someone special in the future, then our writer Rachel McAlley would recommend buying a gift card or reserving a table to enjoy the seasonal Afternoon Tea menu at Rockliffe Hall, Hurworth-on-Tees near Darlington.

Rockliffe Hall Hotel

The Orangery at Rockliffe Hall is a uniquely designed restaurant where guests can enjoy a relaxed afternoon tea with friends and family in a bright and airy open space, yet luxuriously comfortable dining room. Views from The Orangery look across the exceptionally well-maintained, vast grounds and gardens to the distant trees beyond.

The mouth-watering selection of savoury sandwiches and savoury nibbles sit perfectly alongside the delicate sweet cakes and fresh homemade warm scones with jam and clotted cream, and the vast choice of fine leaf teas served in bone china teacups compliments the menu wonderfully.
