HERE COME THE GIRLS! They have the X Factor!

The only thing hotter than the UK Heatwave at the Cazoo St Leger Festival is scorching X-FACTOR Winners Real Like You

This year, the Cazoo St Leger Festival at Doncaster Racecourse Challenged Royal Ascot Ladies Day in the style-stakes and hired high-end fashionista, Sarah Kate Byrne, who styles ITV’s glamourous racing presenter, Francesca Cumani, to create a fantastic style guide, promoting the ultimate in racing glamour at this year’s Ladies Day.

Not only that, but two members of the long-awaited X-Factor winning girl group Real Like You also rocked the show in Donny. Halle Williams and Virginia Hampson took some time out of their hectic studio recording sessions this week to treat themselves to a day in the sun filled with fun and fizz, with their managers close by their side. The girls appeared at the racecourse donning gorgeous outfits for a fantastic day out on Cazoo St Leger Festival launch day.

Halle stunned in a divine snake print mini dress with classic square-toe gold heels. Whilst Virginia turned heads in a green floral midi-dress paired with white wedges and her hair slicked back in a gorgeous 90’s bun.

The girls, who have been busy recording their brand-new debut album, were very excited to be dressed up in their finery and even more excited about the stunning weather, Halle said:

“We knew we were going to have a lovely day off from recording, but this sunshine! Yorkshire’s looking just beautiful in the sunshine! I think this racing festival might be up there as one of the best”.

Halle and Virginia spoke to the BBC talking about Cazoo St Leger Festival and their first day ever at the races, telling them how excited they were to be here…and what better weather for a day out?

The racecourse has seen one of the hottest ever days in its history as mercury hit 29 degrees centigrade, sparking a yellow warning from the Met Office for racegoers to take breaks from the sunshine and keep hydrated, during the main heat of the afternoon.

Rachel Harwood of Doncaster Racecourse said: “We have seen more interest in the Cazoo St Leger Festival than ever before, as we are one of the first major racing Festivals this year to be all singing all dancing, without most of the pandemic restrictions – our Cazoo St Leger Day on Saturday is nearly sold out!”

On Thursday 9th September, stylish racegoers returned to Doncaster Racecourse for one of the Cazoo St Leger Festival highlights – Ladies Day. Drawn by the competitive racing, striking fashion, delicious food, unbeatable atmosphere and, of course, the popular Style Awards, this year, the most stylish racegoer won a total prize worth £1,000.

Taking place on day two of the prestigious Cazoo St Leger Festival, stylish outfits and beautiful headwear were worn in abundance on Ladies Day as racegoers put their best shoes forward to impress the judges of the annual Style Awards, which was open to all to enter. This year, the Style Awards judges want racegoers to embrace #FearlessFashion – the theme for the competition – and dress in all the colours of the rainbow as the track looks to show thanks to the NHS and key workers.

The winner of the Style Awards was Gail Eden, from Doncaster, a frontline NHS nurse for nearly 30 years. She made her dress and hat herself to celebrate the achievements of the NHS and her shoes and bag were from a charity shop. Gail wore a dress covered in rainbows and looked stunning at the racecourse today.

Bosses recently recruited Sarah Kate Byrne, stylist to ITV Racing’s host Francesca Cumani, to school revellers in how to glam up in style for the big occasion, in a bid to rival Ladies Day at Ascot, Cheltenham and the like.

Rachel Harwood, Executive Director of Doncaster Racecourse, said: “With Covid putting a halt to many special occasions and events, Ladies Day has given people a much-needed excuse to dust off their favourite outfit from the back of the wardrobe. It’s amazing to see all of our customers looking fantastic, particularly this year, when no one’s had much of a reason to put on anything fancy!”
