How to Self tan and feel comfortable in your own skin

Rose & Caramel Raises Awareness for Women Self-Esteem and Mental Health With ‘I TAN FOR ME’ Campaign

Check out these self tan secrets – At a time when mental health awareness has shot through the roof, it is refreshing to see a solid British brand putting their name to a campaign which not only raises awareness but also raises much needed funds to address this silent epidemic.

British brand, Rose & Caramel, launches the ‘I TAN FOR ME’ Campaign to raise awareness for women’s self-esteem and mental health. The company was inspired by heart touching stories and photos shared to them by their own die hard fans, of how the brands products have given individuals more self and body confidence and how it has helped cover up side effects on skin caused by endometriosis.

Rose and Caramel

The campaign is for all customers and women, to feel comfortable in their own skin and to say: ‘I TAN FOR ME!’ The product, look and statement are to encourage every female to be the best possible version of herself. A social media campaign was launched for customers, to share on social networks and channels with before and after photos. For each post shared, Rose & Caramel will donate £5 to leading mental health charity- MIND.org.

Also, for every purchase made through the Rose & Caramel website, when the code: MIND is used at checkout, a donation of £5 will be made to MIND.org.

Owner and entrepreneur, Rosie Greenhalgh, was not only touched about how her products could impact individual lives of women, to give back such declarations of support and encouragement to the company and brand, but she asked herself where her own obsession with fake tan began; and what she could do back for a community of women in the UK hit hard by self-esteem and mental health issues.

Self tan secrets

Rosie’s own story started aged 11: with an extremely pale complexion found it hard to achieve the desired ‘tanned’ look she was seeking (and one that her friends at school would be sporting after or over the summer months/holidays). As a surprise, her mother allowed her to buy her first bottle of fake tan.

“It was from The Body Shop a thin lotion with a watermelon scent. I can’t believe the detail I can remember about it, I applied it and woke up extremely brown and went to school the next day feeling the best I had ever felt, I mean I finally felt like I looked good and all the girls said wow look at the colour of you I didn’t tell a soul it was fake…… until dinner time and someone on the yard said oh my god look at her hands…. they were bright orange! I mean illuminous. Luckily even though I was dying inside I managed to laugh it off!! So, I guess that was the start of a lifelong relationship that developed between myself and self-tan.” – CEO, Rosie Greenhalgh
