Clean Beauty at Herveda

If you experience this new clean beauty destination first-hand you can book a personalised skin consultation with Amy. Furthermore, you will receive a pulse diagnosis to discover your specific Dosha type, as well as information on personalised skincare products and routine. An in-store 45-minute in-person consultation with Amy costs £50 and includes £100 credit towards recommended products. However, Amy will beheading to the US in the coming weeks and online consultations will be offered. The cost is £20 for an online consultation, taking just 20-minutes, and includes £40 credit towards products.
There are 3 types of Dosha. Firstly, Vata. Secondly, Pitta, Thirdly, Kapha. You may find that you don’t fall into just one type of Dosha. Our writer, Rachel McAlley undertook an online skin quiz with Herveda, and found that she falls within 2 types of Dosha. If you are all 3 types, this is known as Tridoshic.
The Meanings of Vata, Pitta and Kapha

The Meaning – Vata
Mainly having dry or mature skin, a person with Vata properties means that you are dominated by the elements of Air and Space in your constitution. Vata types feel the cold, have fine delicate skin, tiny pores, tan easily, and are cool to touch.
The Meaning – Pitta
To have sensitive or combination skin, a person with mainly Pitta means that you are dominated by the elements of Fire and Water in your constitution. Pitta types feel the heat, have warm glowing cheeks, are often freckled or dotted with beauty marks and burn easily.
The Meaning – Kapha
If you have mainly oily or congested skin, you likely fall into the Kapha type. Your constitution is dominated by the elements of Water and Earth. Kapha types have classically pale or rich olive skin that is smooth, soft and lustrous.
At Herveda, and after your skin consultation you will find which type of Dosha you are. Amy will then talk through what happens when your skin is imbalanced, and what you can do to help rebalance the skin. You may find that your skin type requires different skincare products from the Vata, Pitta, and Kapha collections.
The Products
My skin fell under the Pitta and Kapha type (mainly Pitta), and as a result I was advised on the following products to suit my specific skin requirements.
Pitta Products

Maharishi Ayurveda, Real Beauty, Soothe Face Cream (£27.50)
Helps to reduce redness and soothe irritation. The Ayurvedic btanicals deeply nourish sensitive Pitta skin.

Rasasara Skinfood, Pitta Hydrating Mist for Sensitive or Combination Skin (£15.75)
A cooling, refreshing and toning mist with rose water and jasmine. Equally, helping to ease irritability, frustration, and other Pitta imbalances.

Paavani Ayurveda, Pitta Cleanser and Mask (£22.40)
Made for sensitive skin with Bentonite, Clay, Manjista, Amalaki, and Neem. Together these ingredients detoxify, soothe irritation, and clear blemishes, resulting in smooth, radiant skin.

Não Ayurveda, Pitta Face Serum (£29.25)
Helping to alkalize, cool and soothe this face serum calms acne-prone, inflamed and irritated Pitta skin. Made with high concentration of Vitamin C and Antioxidants, while Brahmi boosts natural collagen production.
Kapha Product

Nao Ayurveda, Kapha Detox Body Oil (£27)
This oil cleanses skin from the inside out, by stimulating proper circulation. The ingredients offer light, stimulating, and detoxifying properties and energetics. Specifically, the Ayurvedic oils mobilise ama, or toxins from the tissues, whilst calming the nervous system.
The Results
I have been using the products daily, aside from Paavani Pitta Cleanser and Mask, which I have solely been using as a weekly mask. Moreover, the hydrating mist by Rasasara Skinfood is my personal favourite. However, all the products together have been helping with my dry, sensitive skin.
The only reason the mist is my favourite is because it has been in my handbag and is used many times daily, as a cooling mist. The face cream by Maharishi Ayurveda is the most luxurious of the products, and is my ‘go to’ before bed.
If you want a personal skin consultation visit Herveda to find out more. I can hand on heart say that you won’t regret finding out your Dosha and tailoring the skincare to your specific skin type requirements.
