Sun Siyam Resorts Celebrates International Women’s Day 2024

Sun Siyam Resorts continues its mission to empower women throughout the organisation and in celebration of International Women’s Day, have created a number of activities to place emphasis on its importance.

At Sun Siyam Iru Veli a schedule of events have been arranged for guests and team members from Zumba to cocktail events, culminating with a BBQ Beach Dinner for female team members. With the theme #insprireinclusion, the resort aims to embody these words throughout their celebrations. At Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, guests can take part in a sumptuous lobster beach banquet to celebrate the women in their lives to celebrate this years International Women’s Day.

As part of the group’s emphasis on providing employment opportunities for local communities and investing in social facilities, people-focused initiatives form a big part of Sun Siyam Resorts’ efforts to champion sustainable development and help local communities thrive.  From helping build pre-schools and improve healthcare resources to providing sports facilities and hosting tournaments that bring communities even closer together, and from outsourcing jobs such as local food preparation and gardening work to women’s development committees, Sun Siyam Resorts strives to turn tourism into a force for good wherever possible.

To enable employees to live and work close to their families, and to ensure our employment opportunities never discriminate against ages or genders – including ladies of retirement age – some of the resorts, such as Siyam World, organise morning and evening boat transfers.

On the local island of Kudafari, the Women’s Development Committee is in place to make sure that women have the opportunity to develop vital to enable employment at all level.
