Last month we ran a very popular feature about cosmetic beauty treatments and semi-permanent makeup, with a fantastic expert in this field, Elle of Elle Hive Cosmetic Artistry.

In that feature I told you about my own eyebrow journey and how I have wanted to have an eyebrow makeover for ages but was always nervous about having the procedure in case I didn’t like the result. Finding the person I could fully trust was my biggest draw back.

However, I still had a small number of nerves and so Elle suggested she did HD Brows on me first which would give a very similar result to the one I wanted for my own eyebrows, but one which would fade in a few weeks and would give me time to decide if that’s the look I wanted.

Make sure you allow plenty of time when having semi-permanent eyebrows done with Elle, mine took three hours from start to finish, but the time flew by (mainly because I was so relaxed I slept for most of the time) and the result was worth it.
Elle started by mapping out the perfect shape for my brows. Brow Mapping is a technique that is used to help find the ideal brow shape on your face. Brow specialists take multiple measurements of your brows and eyes to establish your correct brow shape. This takes time as we all have one eyebrow slightly higher than the other and it is at this stage where all corrections are made.
The perfect eyebrows were drawn on and coloured in with an eyebrow pencil to make sure I liked them before Elle started the tattooing process.
Ombré brows is a semi-permanent eyebrow styling technique that uses a small machine to place extremely thin dots of pigment into the skin, creating a soft-shaded, very natural brow pencil look.
This was and is perfect for me and after four weeks, Elle checked up on by brows once they had settled and topped them up where necessary. They are very dark at first but this fades to a much more natural shade during the first four weeks.
I found the whole process painless, relaxing and confidence boosting! But best of all are the compliments, exactly the reaction I wanted is the one I get. These Ombre Brows are here to stay!
Let me remind you of the options:
Ombre – a semi-permanent technique which creates a softly shaded brow pencil look by placing tiny dots of pigment into the skin.
Microblading – this semi-permanent technique creates the illusion of full brows with natural looking hair strokes.
Combination – a combination of both techniques, giving natural looking hair strokes and applied dots of pigment for fullness.
