Families are invited to enjoy a spooktacular wildlife adventure at The Reserve at Chester Zoo this October half term. The Halloween Escape is introduced this week (24 October) and runs until 1 November.
At the heart of tis Chester Zoo experience is The Reserve After Dark: The Secret Mission — an immersive nighttime adventure in which families follow mysterious clues, discover hidden sounds and use UV lights and a wand to help solve a Halloween mystery.
THE SECRET MISSION…
The After Dark Secret Mission begins at the Welcome Lodge, where guests will be given all they need to solve the mystery of The Reserve’s missing sounds – a witch’s wand, a spell book and UV Spectral Scanner. They will then head out into the night and follow a series of hidden clues around The Reserve. Back inside, in the cosy Tsavo Lounge, there will be wildlife talks, hands-on crafts, interactive challenges and more clues, as families learn about bats and frogs – and bioacoustics. The finale is a visit to the mysterious Witches Lodge, where families will see if they have been successful in their mission. To add an extra touch of Halloween magic, fancy dress is encouraged for all ages.
The Reserve at Chester Zoo offers an extraordinary African-inspired break without the need to leave the UK. There’s also face painting with a Halloween twist and lots of giant pumpkin sculptures to spot around the zoo.
