Windjammer Landing Resort and Residences – A Vision Board Stay in Saint Lucia

Windjammer Landing has always been on my vision board: blue and white beach umbrellas, crystal-clear sea and whitewashed villas tucked into Saint Lucia’s lush hillside. It is the epitome of relaxed island luxury — exclusive and serene, yet never pretentious.

Designed around nature, the resort feels less like a hotel and more like a private Caribbean village. The landscape is an essential part of the overall experience (which we already know Saint Lucia boasts), with swaying palms, rolling hills and blue horizons visible from almost every corner of the resort. I was on the island to attend the annual Jazz and Arts Festival and my first choice of accommodation was always going to be Windjammer Landing Resort and Residences!

The Little Luxuries That Make the Difference

Windjammer delivers on every single aspect of a luxury hotel lovers non negotiables, and also on those finer points which blow your mind with the attention to detail. Welcome drinks on arrival, monogrammed pillowcases, staff remembering your name and your drinks order at the bar, dedicated beach service, beach bags for you to use and take home, personalised notes and locally inspired touches in your room like chocolates, flowers or fruits.

The resort itself is spread over 60 acres of tropical hillside and there really is something for everyone’s taste. Guests can choose from rooms, suites or villas or if you are looking for a more residential style of stay, guests can select to stay in an Ocean Point Residence.

Hillside Living with Ocean Views

I had the pleasure of staying in one of the Hillside Oasis Guestrooms which featured a private terrace looking out to sea, there were beautiful furnishings and a four-poster bed with pillows which had been embroidered with my initials! Discovering this while I tossed the decoration cushions aside on my first evening was a truly memorable moment! This is such a small personal touch which screams quiet luxury and it’s the thoughtful touches like this that makes it no surprise that the Hotel is the only member of The Leading Hotels of the World on the island.

What I love most is regardless of your room type every single guest is treated the same, and made to feel like a VIP! The staff at the hotel are friendly and approachable and no ask is too big. Every morning at breakfast you are greeted with a bright smile and genuine interest into how you are doing today. During the festival, we also spotted a celebrity or two and it was clear that they also felt extremely comfortable to be out and about and blending with other guests. Yet despite the glamour, Windjammer never feels like it is trying too hard.

The resort has truly mastered the art of making relaxation feel effortless so staying here during the Jazz Festival helped to ensure I could relax and recharge before the festivities each night. Days can be as slow or as active as you choose. Soak up the sun on the private beach, have a dip in the multiple pools or find a space to simply enjoy the surroundings and sip on a cocktail from the bar. Or if you prefer something more active, padel courts are available to book, plus many water sports are on offer upon request.

Where to Eat at Windjammer Landing

The food at the hotel is just another reason to stay. Windjammer offers multiple dining options and each restaurant has its own personality and setting. Dinner at Upper Deck Steakhouse brings a more elegant evening atmosphere, with elevated dining and sweeping views (formal wear for this spot), while Jammers Beach Bar & Grill is the kind of place where lunch naturally turns into a long afternoon watching the waves. Its relaxed, beachside and you can dine barefoot. The Mahi Mahi dish here is to die for and I would highly recommend washing this down with an ice-cold glass of rose.

Dragonfly is another standout. With a pan Asian inspired menu, you can dine here overlooking the sunset on the beach and enjoy the fresh sushi rolls or ample seafood dishes. Within Dragonfly is The Perch which is the rooftop area where breakfast is also served each morning. In contrast to this you also have Papa Don’s Taverna.

Hidden amongst the villas, this restaurant brings a Mediterranean influence where it feels like you could be on a Greek Island with a few resident cats on hand to supervise dinner and silently judge your order.

Cocktails and All-Inclusive Ease

Now a Caribbean holiday demands a good cocktail and Windjammer understands the assignment. Rum-based classics, tropical flavours and beautifully presented drinks become part of the daily ritual. Whether enjoyed overlooking the bay or after dinner beneath the stars, the best drinks here are as much about the moment as what is in the glass.

With all this fantastic food and drink at your fingertips, the resort offers a Premium all-inclusive option which lets you have the freedom to dine at any of the seven restaurants around the resort, as well as premium spirit brands for drinks and snacks between your mealtimes. It also includes full access to both motorized and non-motorized water sports during your stay and complimentary dining for children under 11.

Serene Spa

The best luxury hotels always have incredible spas and at Windjammer, they take tier wellbeing very seriously. The Serene Spa welcomes guests to tailor their very own package from their large range of services and products. Choose a Swedish or Deep Tissue massage and follow it with a pedicure or for the more romantic, a couple massage to really detox and get in tune with each other. If more private, book a massage in the comfort of your villa and let the team work their magic while you don’t even have to leave your room. If the little ones have behaved or you just want some quiet time, the spa offers a Kids Spa experience menu. They have every single base covered!

Final Thoughts: Island Life, Beautifully Wrapped

Windjammer Landing does not just offer a stay in Saint Lucia, it gives you your own little version of island life. Its appeal is not simply that it is luxurious. It is that it captures the essence of exactly what people come to Saint Lucia hoping to find.

A week here becomes a collection of small, perfect moments – coffee with an ocean view, a swim in warm Caribbean water, dinner beneath the stars and a final cocktail while watching the sun go down across the bay. The only negative part is having to check out after the week is up!
