Virgin Limited Edition’s Son Bunyola Hotel & Villas Brand New Experiences

Sir Richard Branson’s Son Bunyola Hotel & Villas, nestled within the stunning 810-acre estate in Mallorca’s Tramuntana Mountains, has reopened for a new season with an exciting array of new activities. Designed to offer guests the ultimate Mallorcan experience, these include a unique meet-the-bees encounter, where guests can join a local beekeeper to harvest honey, gourmet vineyard picnics, hands-on cooking classes, and immersive experiences such as private ice baths.

Opened in June 2023 following a meticulous restoration, the hotel occupies a beautifully revitalised 16th-century finca at the heart of the Son Bunyola estate, which also features three luxury villas. This 27-bedroom boutique hotel is set within a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering a stunning backdrop of majestic mountains and the Mediterranean coastline.

General Manager, Vincent Padioleau says: “After an amazing opening in 2023 and a fantastic first full year, we can’t wait to reopen in 2025 with even more incredible experiences. Some of our guests love to simply relax by the pool and soak in the views, while others seek adventure. That’s why we’ve expanded our range of activities to showcase the very best of Mallorca, especially during the cooler months, when the island has so much to offer.”

Guests can set off on world-class hiking and cycling routes right from the hotel’s doorstep. The estate also features an on-site tennis court, scenic walks to the beach, spa treatment rooms and a variety of rejuvenating wellness activities, including outdoor yoga, Pilates, and fitness classes. Many of these are part of a weekly-changing programme of complimentary sessions, all designed to promote relaxation and well-being. For those seeking a more personalised experience, private lessons or guided experiences in tennis, yoga, cycling, and hiking are also available.

Additional activities include painting classes with local artist Marcelina Etchegaray and perfume workshops with the local brand Gaia Natural Products. The hotel also plans to host a curated series of complimentary immersive workshops, designed to reflect the island’s seasonal moments and traditions. These include classes on making panadas (Mallorcan pastry) and Mallorcan herb-infused liquor, alongside folklore showcases featuring traditional dancers and live music. For those seeking a cold thrill, the private ice bath experience comes equipped with a projector screen to help make the time pass more quickly.

For wine enthusiasts, Son Bunyola now offers a unique vineyard dining experience. This year marks an exciting milestone, as the vineyards anticipate their first harvest, with the first wine expected by 2026. Guests can enjoy wine tastings and savour a vineyard picnic, either beneath the olive trees or within the vineyard itself, all while taking in panoramic views and relishing a curated selection of gourmet treats.

Rates at Son Bunyola Hotel start from EUR 455 (£383) per night on a B&B basis for a Mountain View room during the low season, based on double occupancy. Rates include luxury accommodation, breakfast, and an in-room minibar.

Rates for the Son Bunyola Villas start from EUR 2,400 (£2,020) per night on a B&B basis during the low season. For more information and to book a stay at Son Bunyola Hotel & Villas, visit www.virginlimitededition.com/son-bunyola, call T: 0800 716 919, or e-mail [email protected]
