It’s also part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. If you visit this location then you will soon find that the tombs were cut into the rock within the valley and then buried underground. There you will find 63 different tombs, and each of them has its distinctive imagery. They were sealed with a range of treasures and shrines to try and help the king as they moved into the afterlife. The most famous tomb here would be the one that houses King Tutankhamun. It was excavated in the year 1922 and to this date, it stands as one of the most famous tombs around.
