The Holmes Hotel: A Home Away From Home for Curious Minds

Stepping into The Holmes Hotel in the heart of London was like entering a world of refined luxury and timeless charm. Greeted by warm smiles at reception as we crossed the exquisitely laid parquet flooring, we could already tell we were in for a beautiful stay.

We arrived through the old winding corridors to our suite, which spread across two floors. The room was a testament to classic elegance and modern comfort. The vintage-style turntable, nestled among a collection of Sherlock Holmes books, added a touch of nostalgia to the room and envelopes you in the history that The Holmes Hotel is surrounded by.

The seating area beckoned us to unwind and immerse ourselves in the literary world of the great detective. We then discovered the large modern bathroom, complete with a luxurious bathtub and integrated television. Fancy right?

Throughout our stay, there was a beautiful fragrant ambiance, I love it when a hotel covers details such as scent when you walk in. It creates an atmosphere of sophistication. Every corner seemed to whisper tales of mystery and intrigue, inviting us to unravel the secrets hidden within its walls a little like a Sherlock Homes investigation.

The Holmes Hotel’s location in London proved to be another highlight of our stay, offering easy access to the city’s most iconic landmarks and attractions. Whether we were strolling along the banks of the River Thames or exploring the bustling streets that surround the hotel, there is so much to do on its doorstep. Including, of course, the Sherlock Holmes Museum.

The staff were not only incredibly helpful and friendly but also went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction.  We had a good laugh with the ladies on reception too which immediately made us feel at home.

Breakfast was served in The Kitchen at Holmes. This place was special, it is beautifully lit with superb décor. Between the elegant surroundings of the restaurant there was an open kitchen with experienced chefs cooking up an absolute storm. We had the most perfect poached eggs sat on a zingy and fresh avocado smash. I had a gorgeous tomato salad with halloumi and all of this for breakfast! The menu here is fantastic, it’s somewhere I’d return to in a flash. 10 out of 10 for breakfast!

My stay at The Holmes Hotel was a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and history. From the vintage-inspired décor to the impeccable service, every aspect of our experience surpassed our expectations. Whether you’re a fan of Sherlock Holmes or simply seeking a luxurious retreat in the heart of London, The Holmes Hotel is sure to impress with its timeless charm, quirky décor and amazing hospitality.
