The Best Luxury Self-catering Accommodation in Yorkshire

Finding the perfect place for a family getaway can be tricky. Will it be large enough? Will there be plenty to do to keep everyone occupied? There are so many things to think about.

Stop stressing! We found the perfect place for a getaway for a family of six, or a group of friends, right in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. This is the best luxury self-catering accommodation we have found.

Bellerbys is a superb barn conversion, and one of the luxury cottages owned by private multi-award-winning hotel, Rudding Park. This is premium accommodation of the highest standard.

The interior includes three reception rooms with open plan living, three double bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms (one of which is on the ground floor) and a utility room.

Externally, there are beautiful landscaped gardens with views towards a working barn and a selection of patio areas designed to take advantage of the sun and stunning countryside views.

Parking is excellent, we had three large cars between us and there was still space for at least two more!

So what to do while you are there?

Rudding Park Hotel, set in 300 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland, (the most beautiful hotel in Harrogate), is a short distance away from Bellerbys, and there are many facilities at the hotel you can take advantage of; a destination spa, three restaurants, a kitchen garden, private cinema and two golf courses.

The spa

Rudding Park Spa is amazing, the facilities and experiences are second to none. However, the Roof Top Spa is the jewel in the crown of their wellness offering. This is a social space with a range of hydrotherapy and thermal experiences and the Escape Zone, a peaceful, serene space for guests having a treatment. Guests can also maintain their beauty routine in the Nail and Beauty Studio, eat, drink and shop in their fabulous facilities. Everything has been taken into consideration for your visit.

Golf

self-catering Bellerbys at Rudding Park

Ok, so in our family group, we had a very experienced golfer, a novice and someone who hadn’t played for years. The weather was beautiful and we were in the mood for some fresh air, exercise and fun!

Rudding Park Golf offers the perfect opportunity for all of these. With the 18 hole Hawtree Course or the 6 hole Repton Short Course, we chose the Repton Course. Even us none golfers tagged along for the walk and to capture the bloopers – of which there were many! We had such a great couple of hours, this was something we all enjoyed, in fact I started to think I might fancy taking up golf myself!

Other golf facilities are bays feature TrackMan touch screens that supply ball tracking data and virtual golf, enabling you to play some of the finest golf courses around the globe, so there’s no need to hang up the clubs on account of the weather. Or you can experience simulated golf and keep on course with Sim Bay.

Where we ate

As we were staying at Bellerbys for two nights, we decided to do a family BBQ and pizza night. There’s a great BBQ already at the cottage and we have a portable pizza oven, and this made for a great first evening and a very relaxed start to our stay.

The second night, we dined in the Clocktower Brasserie within Rudding Park Hotel. This was a reason to dress up and dine in style, and the hotel offers complimentary transport to and from the hotel for any of it’s self-catering residents. A brilliant service.

As a family, we agreed that Bellerbys is the best self-catering getaway accommodation we have ever experienced, absolutely top notch. Made even better (as if that was possible), by having access to the hotel and all of its facilities.

You do of course pay for golf and for use of the Roof Top Spa, but it’s worth every penny. Especially as the price of staying at Bellerbys is so affordable.

The Price

The price? Bellerbys is available from only £445 per night! Split that between 6 people and it’s the bargain of the century!

Let us know what you think… we will wait.
