The name Reflection has been chosen to resonate with experienced travellers seeking more immersive, thoughtful journeys – offering time to connect with destinations, cultures and landscapes at a slower pace.
Riviera Travel has confirmed that its newest five-star river cruise ship, the MS Riviera Reflection, is now on sale for 2027 departures. The third vessel in the line’s premium Radiance Class, she follows Riviera Radiance (2025) and Riviera Resplendence (launching July 2026), and will operate itineraries along the Danube.
The launch forms part of Riviera Travel’s continued investment in its river cruise programme, with a fourth Radiance Class ship already planned for 2028, with further details to be announced.
Bookings are now live at rivieratravel.co.uk.

A Modern, Light-Filled Ship Designed For Easy Indulgence
The Riviera Reflection will carry 178 guests across 89 cabins and suites, attended by a crew of 44. Designed to maximise natural light and connection to the riverscapes, the ship features approximately 750m² of glass throughout, including expansive panoramic windows exceeding 100m² on each side of the vessel.
More than 80% of cabins and suites include floor-to-ceiling French balconies, while four Grand Suites (32m²) on the Diamond (Upper) Deck offer private outdoor balconies and separate living and sleeping areas. Superior Suites (24m²) and well-appointed Double Cabins (16m²) complete the accommodation.

Three onboard restaurants – the Main Restaurant, Riverview Kitchen and Mosaic – are all included within the fare. Guests will also benefit from Riviera’s all-inclusive drinks package, now standard across all European river sailings.
Onboard facilities include a split-level Panorama Lounge, Sun Deck with plunge pool, spa and fitness centre, boutique shop, and complimentary bicycles for exploring ashore.
Built for Tomorrow
Riviera Reflection has been designed with advanced environmental technologies and is targeting Green Award Gold Standard certification for inland navigation. This independent programme recognises vessels that exceed established environmental and safety benchmarks and is widely adopted across Europe’s river cruise industry.
Meeting growing demand for River Cruising
The launch comes amid sustained growth in river cruising, which continues to gain share within Riviera Travel’s overall holiday portfolio. Customer interest has strengthened significantly over the past year, with river cruise products accounting for a growing proportion of both bookings and online engagement.
Demand has been particularly strong for itineraries along Europe’s most iconic waterways. The Danube has emerged as a standout performer, with bookings seeing notable year-on-year growth.
This momentum has directly informed Riviera Travel’s expansion plans. The introduction of Riviera Reflection, alongside Riviera Resplendence in 2026, will increase capacity on this key river, ensuring the company is well-positioned to meet rising demand.
Why River Cruising, and Why Now?

European cruise demand continues to climb, with 8.4 million Europeans taking cruise holidays in 2024, a 3% increase year on year, including 2.4 million travellers from the UK and Ireland.
At the same time, river cruising is benefiting from a broader shift in traveller preferences. Holidaymakers are increasingly seeking culturally rich, slower-paced experiences that remove the stress of complex travel logistics. The “unpack once” nature of river cruising, combined with centrally located ports and guided excursions, continues to resonate strongly with modern travellers.
