The Radisson Blu Glasgow is a lovely contemporary hotel. It offers everything you would expect from the Radisson brand. There’s a large open plan foyer, excellent reception team, lively restaurant and bar, bustling breakfast room, and 247 beautifully designed guest rooms.
However, this Radisson Blu also has a little golden nugget to attract the rich and famous to stay whilst visiting Scotlands biggest city. The Apartment is a private apartment within the hotel itself, and it’s something to behold.
The Apartment at Radisson Blu Glasgow

Yes, you heard that right, The Apartment is an actual private two-bedroom apartment on the sixth floor. Also, dining room for eight, separate lounge area with comfy sofas, and 3-bathrooms (one with huge oval bath and walk-in showers). Moreover, you’ll find 4 giant TV’s, plus a microwave, cocktail trolley and beautiful glassware. There is the usual coffee and tea facilities, bottled water, and a couple of cheeky Tunnock’s caramel wafers to enjoy. A little extra that guests receive in The Apartment is a complimentary bottle of whisky, and hand-dipped chocolate strawberries.
I’ve been lucky to stay in fabulous hotels over the years, but never a private apartment within a hotel. This is definitely a first for me and my family!
The Apartment
Upon check-in, the concierge took our luggage to The Apartment and gave us a guided tour of the room facilities. The door opens into a small foyer with lounge area to the left, main bathroom, and double bedroom. Furthermore, there’s also a couple of mini fridges, microwave, coffee table books, wardrobe, and cloakroom in this foyer.
We were told that a number of celebrities were recent guests in the brand-new Apartment within the Radisson Blu. Our daughter was beside herself when she learned that some reality TV stars had stayed in the same room.

Once in the lounge there is a large floor to ceiling window, also in both bedrooms and dining room. The dining room is in the middle of the apartment. Equally, it includes TV, cocktail trolley, mini fridges, glassware cabinet, coffee amenities, and sliding doors to the master bedroom.
The master bedroom has a huge bed, wardrobe, TV and en suite bathroom with double sink, and walk-in rainforest shower. There are even toiletries to use and take home (if you want), including toothbrush and toothpaste set, plus shaving kit.
We unpacked our overnight bags, indulged in a small glass of whisky (it would be rude not to whilst in Scotland), ran a bubble filled bathtub, and simply relaxed.
The Grahamston Kitchen & Bar

The Grahamston Kitchen & Bar within the Radisson Blu were expecting us for dinner, so we donned our evening dress, and headed down to the restaurant. The very lovely Dawn introduced herself to us as she would be looking after our table in the restaurant. We perused the a la carte menu and the bar menu then ordered a number of dishes from both.
Dawn took our order of Lamb Cutlets, and Sriracha Prawn Cocktail from the a la carte, and the Crispy Fried Chicken from the bar menu to start. Our mains included the Barbecue Glazed Sirloin from the a la carte, and both the Chicken Katsu and Tandoori Chicken Wrap from the bar menu. After a recommendation we also ordered a side of Skin on Fries, and the Greens. Desserts included the Marble Chocolate & Morello Cherry Mousse from the a la carte and the Apple & Toffee Crumble Tart from the bar menu.
The dishes that got a proper thumbs up were the starter Lamb Cutlets and Prawn Cocktail, closely followed by the main Chicken Katsu. Everything was full of flavour, but the Prawn Cocktail was truly outstanding. The little kick from the sriracha sauce and the single tempura prawn on top was an extremely nice, and very tasty addition.
The Grahamston Food & Drink

We also indulged in a couple of non-alcoholic cocktails, the passionfruit martini, and the strawberry daiquiri. The daiquiri definitely had the wow factor!
After a few hours in the Grahamston we said goodnight to the wonderful Dawn, and made our way back to The Apartment. Our bellies were full and we’de had a brilliant night eating excellent food. It seemed way to short-a-night though as we all fell asleep straight away and woke nice and early for breakfast.
Back down to the breakfast room, located at the side of the Grahamston Kitchen, there were plenty of options to choose. We were seated in a little alcove, which was perfect for people watching. You could help yourself to a full Scottish breakfast, at the hot buffet counter, or alternatively eggs of any kind could be ordered from the serving team. There were fresh yoghurts, smoothies, cereal, pastries, continental meats, fish and cheese, plus gluten free options for those with intolerances. “The Radisson are kings of breakfast” we heard someone say in passing, “indeed they are” we replied!
Once back in The Apartment we watched morning TV, freshened up, and packed our bags. With a heavy heart it was time to leave our luxurious apartment, bid a fond-farewell to the sixth floor, and check out of the Radisson Blu Glasgow.
