Holidaying – an activity fraught with decision paralysis. Ocean views, or mountainous landscapes? Relaxation station, or riding jet skis and horse riding bareback? Buzzing local nightlife, or early nights in a king-sized bed? Hyatt Regency Place, is a 5-star hotel located in Tagazhout, and it’s one of the best hotels in Morocco for those who can’t decide, and want everything out of their holiday.
Hyatt Place Tagazhout Bay is the sister hotel of Hyatt Regency Hotel. Situated slightly off the beaten track, you’ll find this 5 star hotel up a somewhat steep set of stairs, 15 minutes’ walk from the beach, and 45 minutes’ walk from Tagazhout town. Mountainous views of Morocco require a bit of mileage, but this one’s not too taxing, and the view is more than enough reward. For those not looking for a daily step master down to the beach, Hyatt Place Tagazhout Bay offers daily transfers.

It’s hard to put into words how jaw-droppingly beautiful this hotel is. It rather reminded me of a Bond villain’s home. Sky high ceilings and glass windows flooded the reception with natural light. As you enter, you instantly feel lighter, and sweet Moroccan tea certainly helps soothe the trials and tribulations of travel.

I headed straight down the stone steps, into the vast garden space and a pool that beats most infinity pools. With mountainous landscapes to your left, and ocean views to your right, Hyatt Regency Place is the perfect holiday retreat for those who want to escape the clatter and clangs of a busy life, without being so far removed that you feel entirely cut off from society.

This hotel has suites and rooms that let you bask in Tagazhout’s mountainous glory, directly from your bed. If you’re opting to take it easy, and can’t quite bring yourself to slob from bed to balcony before lunch time, then don’t feel guilty. The views are just as picturesque as you munch on a little breakfast in bed. they even offer a small kitchen if you want to whip up something first thing.

Of course, you would be rather foolish to skip the menu offered at Hyatt Regency Place. Why cook, when you can enjoy the freshest seafood, eaten in the sunshine of Tagazhout?

The food has a simplicity to it: like their sister restaurant, Hyatt Place Tagazhout Bay, this five star hotel goes heavy on the fish, and I enjoyed a rather lovely piece of Seabass with some fried vegetables and chips with ocean views in the direct eye line of the hotel’s lunch spot, it really doesn’t get much better.

For those looking for the perfect winter sun getaway, Tagazhout, Morocco is perhaps the most overlooked destination. Reaching around 20 degrees Celsius in the day makes it ideal sunbathing weather, even for those who get all hot and stuffy in the heat. Be aware, the temperatures do drop at night, but that just means there’s more time for relaxation in the hotel’s deluxe spa.

So, if you’re currently shivering under a blanket in the dead of British winter, ask yourself what’s stopping you from booking a £40 return flight to Morocco, and enjoying a bit of winter sun luxury?
