Escape To The Magic of Landal Angrove

Are you thinking of a break away for a few days? If so, let me put forward Landal Angrove Country Park Resort in North Yorkshire. With, countryside views, dog agility field, kids play area, adventure golf, hot tubs, restaurant and bar all onsite, plus local market town close by. Does this sound ideal for a short break?

We sent our writer, Rachel McAlley and her Mum along to Landal Angrove for a few nights of pure tranquility and relaxation. We find out what happened on her trip, what type of lodge she stayed in, the facilities at the resort, and her thoughts about whether she would return in the future.

I was invited to stay for a few nights in October at Landal Angrove Country Park Resort. It is only a 45-minute drive from my house, and I thought it would make a great staycation destination. Perfect for a Monday to Wednesday mini trip with my Mum.

Located just 4-minutes drive from the local town of Stokesley, 25-minutes to Middlesborough, and 10-minutes to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. This is a great base from where to visit local attractions, shopping destinations, and hiking trails.

Landal Angrove Country Park is a holiday park with numerous lodges, some with hot tubs, others overlook a quaint pond. Each lodge has it’s own unique view, ours had a view of the dog park, little pond, and the beautifully manicured grounds at Angrove.

Accommodation at Landal Angrove

Firstly, we stayed in an 8-person lodge, which boasted four bedrooms, large open plan kitchen, living and dining space, TV’s, central heating, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Secondly, two of the bedrooms offered double beds and smart TV’s, and two bedrooms had single beds. One of the double bedrooms had an en suite shower room, and there was a main bathroom for all other guests. Furthermore, our large lodge had a hot tub which was checked daily by maintenance to make sure it was clean and at the correct temperature.

Decorated with a stylish interior, comfy sofas, large dining table for 8-guests, and spacious bedrooms. Moreover, we couldn’t have asked for a better lodge; it was cosy, warm, welcoming, and had all the necessary equipment in the kitchen. We could have easily stayed indoors the entire 3-days of our visit as it was so comfortable, however we wanted to look around Angrove and experience other parts of the resort.

Outside The Lodge

In addition, directly outside our lodge we had a selection of outdoor furniture on the decking, plus an external private kitchen. This area had a Big Green Egg BBQ, dining table and chairs. This offers a great outdoor space for a large party staying in this particular lodge. Equally, there was enough parking for 2 cars at our lodge, and any further vehicles can park in the main visitors car park.

G&Tea House at Landal Angrove

That evening we went for dinner at G&Tea House, the onsite cafe, restaurant and bar. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and daytime snacks. Plus, they have an extensive bar that serves cocktails, mocktails and plenty more. The menu changes seasonally, and we were very much looking forward to enjoying dinner at G&Tea House.

Over both evenings at Landal Angrove Resort we dined on Pizza, Hunters Chicken, Seafood Platter, and a side of chunky chips. The food was extremely good, and the service was excellent. The seafood platter was overflowing with smoked salmon, crayfish cocktail, scampi, haddock goujons, smoked mackerel pate, smashed avocado, green salad, and bread and butter. It was easily the most delicious seafood platter that I’ve eaten in a long time, and pizza was immense in size and flavour. We opted for the goat’s cheese, mozzarella, red onion, and red onion marmalade pizza, and boy oh boy are we glad we shared it, because it was absolutely massive.

Spending both evenings at G&Tea House was the best decision because the food was great, and it was good to see the restaurant busy with guests all dining or drinking in the bar area.

We went for a stroll around the grounds the next day, but the weather had other plans. It started to rain at around 10am and didn’t stop all day or all evening. The grass, flowers, trees and plants were in desperate need of some rain, so we decided to relax in the lodge, watch a little bit of TV, play some board games, and generally enjoy all that our accommodation had to offer.

To Conclude

One of the lodges at Landal Angrove

In conclusion, plenty of time was spent in our lodge and I couldn’t have been happier. It was exceptionally clean and well looked after, spacious and airy, stylishly designed, and had everything we could possibly need for a few nights away. I would 100% revisit and stay again at Landal Angrove Country Park Resort.

Prices vary between peak and off peak, we stayed off peak in early October. For a 4-night break in a 4-person lodge, prices start at £449. Visit Landal Angrove to book a lodge or find out more about facilities and other accommodations on site. Visit the G&Tea House website to book a table for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
