Hôtel Castille; Parisian Allure, Italian Style

Driving towards my hotel on the famous Rue De Cambon, I have never felt more Parisian! Hôtel Castille is next to Chanel’s flagship store and for all you fashion lovers, this was the very same road Coco Chanel resided!

In this prime location (within minutes of Palace Vendome and many other attractions) Hôtel Castille by Starhotels Collezione is known for its impeccable service and genuine Italian hospitality. Yes, you read that right. Starhotels are an Italian group but Hôtel Castille blends Parisian charm with Italian sophistication seamlessly.

I stayed in one of the stylish, duplex suites and I was greeted with a host of gifts including a bottle of bubbles. I think they may have sneaked a peak at my Instagram!

The suite felt like a luxurious apartment which you could easily live in BUT that’s the idea! Castille is the lap of luxury without being one bit pretentious, making you instantly feel right at home. The hotel is also home to two furry friends, one cat named Cambon and the other called Capucine. Spotting these two felines adds to the fun during your stay!

Dressing up in my best Parisian outfit I enjoyed cocktails and dinner at L’Assaggio. The restaurant, with an open-air courtyard, is known for its delectable food from Chef Sasha Arandjelovic and Michelin-starred Chef Ugo Alciati. Before dining, I highly recommend a lychee martini (one of the best I’ve had in a long time!).

Inspired by Piedmont traditions, every single dish is proudly executed and a delight to eat. The chefs confidently incorporate these specialties from north-western Italy with French influences using the finest produce.

As a homage to tradition (and totally new for me!) the Agnolotti is served with sauce but with an additional two served in a napkin without sauce, which should be eaten first so you may appreciate the fine filling.

Saving space for dessert, I devoured the Fiordi Latte Ice Cream which is made with three types of milk all imported from Italy. It was probably the finest ice cream I have ever eaten and I’ve had many gelato’s in Rome!

Turndown service deserves a special mention with a ‘Buonanotte’ pillow and slippers with their own matt left for your use.

Feeling like a VIP throughout the duration of my stay, Hôtel Castille blew me away with their attention to detail and with a heavy heart, I checked out.
