Did you know that Jury’s Inn Leeds has rebranded as Leonardo Hotels?
We sent our writer, Rachel McAlley to spend a night at the newly refurbed hotel. Here’s what she thought of Leonardo Hotel Leeds.

I parked my car at CitiPark Leeds Dock, which was just a 10-minute walk from the hotel. It involved a lovely walk alongside the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and Leeds Docks. My parking ticket was validated at the hotel, offering a discounted 24-hour parking ticket for £8, rather than £13.

The reception team were all from the region, and had great knowledge of Leeds and surrounding areas. I had loads of questions about things to do around the hotel like where to eat, where to shop etc. After checking-in, I was given my key card, and headed to my room on the seventh-floor.
I was booked into a Superior Double & Single Room (which could accommodate 3 guests). Due to the hotel being super busy on the night I stayed, they gave me one of the rooms they had available.
My immediate thoughts of the room were that it was spacious, filled with light, and had an amazing view of the city. Firstly, I could see vast pieces of wall art including past Leeds United players. Secondly, I spotted a few bars and restaurants overlooking River Aire. Thirdly, in the distance I could even see the roof of the famous Leeds Corn Exchange.

The room was very comfortable, with everything I needed including bottled water, tea & coffee, biscuits, and a good-sized TV. Notably, the bathroom was relatively basic, but had everything required for my stay including plenty of towels, which is always nice. Furthermore, the double bed had a DREAM Bed Base and Mattress, designed by King Koil, and it was as comfy as it sounds!
I set my laptop up on the large desk, and had a vast choice of charging ports and plug sockets. I took full advantage of using the free hotel WiFi and got on top of my workload. Time flew by as I finished my emails, and it was time for dinner.

Food & Drink
The Leonardo Hotel restaurant is located on the ground floor next to the foyer and reception. I sat in the bar area for my dinner, which is a great place to people watch. Moreover, the menu offers small plates, soups, pizza, grills, burgers, hot dogs, salads, pasta, sandwiches and plenty more. I chose Avocado Caesar Salad (£6.50), followed by Linguine with Sun-dried Tomatoes, Red Pesto and Olives (£14). I even ordered a cheeky side of House Fries with Garlic Salt (£4.50). Because, who doesn’t love fries!

No dessert for me, I was too full from the pasta, which was delicious, and the highlight of my lovely meal. I ordered a take-out hot chocolate from the all-day Costa Coffee bar in the hotel and enjoyed it back in my room. Lounging around with my PJs on, I turned on the TV and relaxed until my eyes were ready to sleep.
Breakfast was taken in the hotel restaurant, and is served as a buffet. Equally, both the hot and cold dishes are self-service from the buffet tables. Again, there was plenty to choose from including fresh fruit bowls, a continental selection with cheeses and meats, warm pastries, and of course a full English. In addition, the hotel has a coffee machine where guests make their own drinks. I enjoyed a simple breakfast of toast and eggs because I was still feeling quite full from the night before.

Hotel Info
Check-out was at 11am, and then I strolled across to the Royal Armouries before heading to my car. My room was priced at £125 Room Only, breakfast is priced at £12.50 if pre-booked, or £15.50 on the day. Dinner was priced separately (see above).
To clarify, the Leonardo Hotel Leeds is in a good location, with a maximum of 15 minutes to get more or less anywhere by foot. Leeds is a relatively small city, yet has plenty to see and do. There are museums, shopping centres, loads of bars, pubs, restaurants and clubs. Furthermore, you could easily fill 24 hours as there is so much to do in the city.
