A wonderful mix of the traditional and the new, Cheltenham nestles against the Cotswolds as the perfect place to unwind and refresh your mind, body and soul.
With unique festival vibes, an abundance of independent and much loved High Street shops, and incredible dining experiences from street food to Michelin starred fine dining. Cheltenham truly is a must-visit town.
Here are five great reasons to visit:
Regency splendour
Cheltenham is undeniably grand. It is like the elegant, older sister to the quaint Cotswolds. Being the UK’s most intact Regency town, you feel completely transported to another world. There is stunning architecture everywhere you look which makes it the perfect place for a mooch.

The first natural spring was discovered here in 1716 which led to the development and wealth of the town. Enjoy the wonderfully preserve spa buildings with the Pitville Pump being the jewel in the crown. Sat in Pitville Park it is the epitome of Cheltenham charm and a lovely way to spend the day.
Horse racing
Of course, its hard to think of Cheltenham without thinking of the iconic Cheltenham Racecourse. With the horseracing season winding down after their meet on 17th/18th April, the Racecourse does not slow down. They will be hosting a number of music events such as The Fulltone Orchestra, Wychwood Festival and the Ibiza Classics Orchestra.
Beautiful Hotels and Restaurants
Where better to stay than the newly refurbished Hotel Du Vin, Cheltenham. The recent refurbishment celebrates English Heritage style and the rustic allure of country living. Some of the newly renovated guest rooms even feature his and hers sinks, baths and showers. We absolutely loved the his and hers bathroom, a unique feature making the stay feel extra luxurious.

There is a grand, gentle charm about the hotel and its location is perfect. The hotel is 5 minutes, walk from the buzzy Montpellier district. Not only is it picture postcard perfect but it has all of the independent boutiques, bars and restaurants that you will need for your stay.
Festivals
Throughout the summer, Cheltenham plays host to a number of festivals. No matter what your taste there is something for everyone. Cheltenham Science Festival 4th – 9th June, Cheltenham Music Festival 6th – 3rd July, Cheltenham Jazz Festival 1st -6th May and rounding off the year Cheltenham Literary Festival 4th -13th October. All set to the backdrop of this amazing town.
Gateway to the Cotswolds

Despite being a town, this is no city living experience. You are in an ideal position to explore the Cotswolds with gorgeous villages such are Moreton on the Marsh and Chipping Norton a short drive away and of course you get to take in all of that stunning countryside.
Will you be adding Cheltenham to your staycation list?
