How to turn your home into a spa

There are certain aspects of being at a spa that make you feel relaxed and centered. Whether it’s soaking tubs, massages, quiet areas, or the drinks they serve, something resonates with you that instils a deep calm within. What if you could take these relaxation triggers home? It’s actually easier than you think. Here are a few spa items you can try to replicate at home.

A Zen Garden

If you have the property out back and the area is quiet, a zen garden is in your reach. Zen gardens are easy to make. You can clear an area and put down stones to create the perfect atmosphere for your good energy to bounce off of and into the world. You can install a fountain in order to create the soothing sounds of bubbling water, and with a few statues, you will have reminders to be still and feel. This is a great DIY project that you can put your heart and soul into so you can soothe your mind and spirit.

Stone Baths

Stone baths are a great spa-like addition to your home. The baths are designed out of durable, yet luxurious materials that are comfortable to sit in. The rounded design fits in with just about any bathroom, but they will make you feel like you are soaking in the spa. Whether it’s a bubble bath, bath bombs, or bath oils, you can soak as long as you need while listening to soothing music as all the worries of your day or week simply drift out of your mind as you achieve total relaxation.

Chlorophyll Water

Spas not only soothe you from the outside, but they soothe you from the inside as well.  In many spas, you can get chlorophyll water that helps cleanse your cells and rejuvenate them. The healing power of chlorophyll will make you feel fresh and make you feel healthy as it seeps into your body. You can go to any health food store and pick up chlorophyll powder and add it to your water bottle or your glass of water to get that same refreshing spa-like fluid. Have a glass in your zen garden or while you are soaking in a stone bath, and you will feel transported to the spa.

Aroma Therapy

The olfactory sense, your sense of smell, is determined by your brain in a location right next to where the brain stores memory. As a result, smells help us remember memories better than any other sense. The same can be said for relaxation. If certain smells remind you of being relaxed, you will begin to feel relaxed. Grab a humidifier and add some essential oils to make you feel calm. Lavenders and lemon grasses seem to do the trick in spas, and once your room is filled with that aroma, you will be immediately transported back to your last spa experience and you will begin to feel as if the weight of the world is being lifted off of you.
