Devonshire Spa – A New Era Unfolds

The Spa at the Devonshire Arms has entered a new era with the recent completion of its new vitality pool spa suite ushering in an exciting new era at this popular country hotel. The new state-of- the-art pool suite represents a strong first phase for the future of the spa which has further developments in sight for the future.

Development plans for the Devonshire Spa have been encouraged by trends in the wellbeing hospitality arena, as spa and relaxation facilities grow in popularity, replacing traditional leisure and sports facilities.

Along with the new pool area, a relaxation area with sauna, steam room, rasul room and lounge space, will cater for hotel guests and leisure club members to enjoy, along with those visiting the hotel’s Secret Spa.

The new pool incorporates water cannons, providing deep muscle therapy to relieve stress and tensions, whilst a water jet allows for swimmers to exercise against the current to improve their cardio fitness and muscle tone. Jacuzzi benches massage the thighs, glutes and lower back area, whilst bubble recliners enable full body relaxation in the warmer water encouraging deep relaxation or meditation – the ideal antidote to the pace of modern living and to enhance the body’s mental wellbeing and immune response.

Richard Palmer, MD of the Devonshire Group, explained more about these recent developments:

As one of the country’s leading leisure hotels, it’s imperative for us to keep ahead of industry trends, so we have been working on developing the spa and leisure club for some time now.  A larger, brand new, purpose-built complex is on the horizon, which we have been planning for around a year now, so it made sense to implement the changes to the pool now, as the first stage of exciting new developments to come.

As well as hotel guests we are also keen to cater for the needs of day spa guests and our club members, giving them an enhanced wellbeing space for their enjoyment.’

The Secret Spa

The spa’s secret spa village has proven to be very popular with day spa guests, with a collection of well-equipped canvas bell tents, adjacent to the spa’s pool area. The spa therapists are highly qualified to deliver top-class treatments and therapies in four generously sized treatment rooms at the spa. The therapists are also specially trained to treat those living with and beyond cancer and other health issues, making the spa accessible to many more guests to enjoy.
