The Most Delicious Time of the Year; Christmas Dining With Fashion Santa

This week, Christmas has arrived at the Fourth Floor Brasserie, Harvey Nichols Leeds with even more style than ever before, with the launch of their fabulous new Christmas menu.

I was invited by Victoria Leeds, to take part in a special Christmas dining lunch to try out their new festive dishes for our H&N Magazine readers and followers, attended by none other than Christmas icon himself – Fashion Santa – who kicked off the fabulous festivities with an extra sprinkle of sparkle.

It turns out I’ve been a very good girl, as the food I was presented with was absolutely delicious.

To start, the Blue Cheese Mousse, celeriac, pear, walnut pangrattato and chilli dressing was a delight. A light dish with just the right touch of richness, tinged with the taste of luxury.

For the main, the Roasted Turkey Breast, Braised Turkey Leg Pie, cavolo Nero, bubble and squeak cranberry purée and red wine jus is highly commended. The Turkey leg pie was satisfyingly served in a separate mini pie holder which you could lift and pour onto your plate, this was such a great addition to a dish which is not only delicious but oozes festive spirit.

Finally, my chosen dessert of Harvey Nichols Christmas Pudding, vanilla anglaise and rum ice cream turned out to be the perfect choice. People tend to love or loathe Christmas pudding, but even I would wager that the pudding nay-sayers would change their mind after tasting this delicious dish. It is Christmas in dessert form!

Other dishes on the menu include Chicken Liver Parfait with smoked duck breast, orange, beetroot compote, fennel and honey tuile, also  Tagliolini Pasta with tomato sauce, wild mushroom, spinach, ricotta, macadamia hash, pangrattato and garlic oil. For an alternative dessert option, the Orange Posset with chocolate brownie chunks, passion fruit cream looked a great choice too.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without a glass of Harvey Nichols Brut Champagne – the perfect accompaniment.

In terms of value, it holds up pretty well; you can enjoy three courses and a glass of Champagne for £42, or indulge in three courses and bottomless Champagne for £98.

Given the quality of the dishes, the excellent service and all the festive feels served alongside, the menu is great value for the money.

It really is the happiest season of all for everyone who loves a more elevated Christmas menu.
